As a social media instructor, I've often wondered why we don't have more online support for one of the fastest growing demographics of Facebook users - YOU! Yes, as more and more grandparents and boomers sign up with Facebook, we - your kids - find you have more and more questions about it. And why shouldn't you?!

What we, your kids, may not tell you is that even those of us who signed up near the start of Facebook also have difficulties, because Facebook is famous for changing things. BUT, there is hope.

You don't have to be an expert to know the basics of getting around, posting, messaging, even uploading your own photos and videos if you want to.

This course is designed with grandparents (like my Dad!) and baby boomers in mind, answering questions sent to me by friends and family who, like you, are just wanting to keep in touch with their families without a bunch of hassle.

Each short lecture covers one - and only one - concept, making this course filled with bite sized chunks. I've used screenshots and videos to walk you through common questions like:

How do I set up my profile?
How can I find someone?
Is it safe?
How do I like or comment on a post?
And many more!

I've created this course to progress from the most basic (creating a profile) to upper level use as a beginner. Watch the lectures as many times as you like - you have lifetime access!

A lot of my confusion has been the terminology, i.e tagging. It's useful to understand soc terminologyial media The new Facebook page looks different that the one in the course. The little icon you click on for settings is not at the top of the page. I had to seach for settings in order to find what you were talking about.

Yes - good match. A major resource is the pdf that lists the individual chapters along with that list being on line coupled with the briefness of the videos. I can go just what I want to know.

The pace is excellent. Each lecture is just a few minutes long so when I have a couple of free minutes I can listen and learn. I like the table of contents and other lecture pdfs, very helpful. Not overwhelming. Just enough info to get me started.

I like the baseline introduction. Usually I feel that it's going to be so complicated that I will get mixed up and overloaded with info too quickly. But so far, I'm understanding how to build my skills once I get the idea of how it all works.

This is absolutely fabulous and couldn't over rate it. Rather than like so many experts that can't comprehend a students needs, this trainer starts at the START! and explains what things and why you would want to do it, before showing you how. That is educating!

I am very impressed, looking forward to the next lectures. There is more to learn than I thought. So it is good to download the various handouts that are offered. But I also will replay quite a number of the lectures. I am pleased I took this course. I am reasonably sure that if I had not signed up, I would have never discovered many aspects of Facebook. As an investment, Can $25 is a really good deal. Although I have completed the course, I already know that I have to review quite a few items. Being a retired teacher of Business Studies, I recognise good teaching as a matter of habit. The lecturer is very, very good. I very much recommend this course for people, who like me are over 80 years of age, but would like to stay current.
