Dan is an awesome instructor. I just love the way he has shared techniques to create hand drawn videos. Dan do come up with an updated course as the technology to capture hand drawn videos has become better since the last time you put this course.
However I feel the foundation Dan shares - about ideas, story boards, pre video - they all will remain same even if the technology keep on improving!
Thanks Dan, you are wonderful.

Dan Roam is a phenomenal presenter, but I believe this Udemy course isn't really the best course he could do. Much of the content seems a bit outdated, he does't reply to questions in the Q&A sections, there is no turorial on how to draw, he uses a tablet PC so it's much easier to draw on a screen than it would be on a separate tablet, he does not draw on paper, then transfer to the screen with a scanner. But many of the concepts of storyboarding, integrating sounds, using Camtasia, using PowerPoint, are all pretty good. I should give it only 3-stars, but I gave an extra 1/2 star because Dan Roam is particularly good at what he does and I believe I got some value from that. I wish the course was more up-to-date, I wish there was at least a 10-minute section dedicated to how to draw. I'm considering Videoscribe next because it will draw for me.

I appreciated the very step-by-step process detailed in this course which is very comprehensive and DIY-oriented.
It confirmed that you don't need expensive tools to create an attractive demo-video but a perfect script ton engage your audience !

Dan Roam brings his easy-to-follow style of drawing ideas to this course showing how to present your ideas in drawings - on video. The lessons are great because they are simple, fun, and while drawing seems like child's play - Dan keeps things focused on sharing ideas in a simple way. One of the best courses on Udemy!

Dan's vast background and experience in grabbing and holding the attention of his audiences has given him the tools and credibility to prepare and lead this lecture.
The course is fast-paced but precise. Elegantly organized and presented in enough detail to get anyone who is reasonably comfortable in Power Point creating compelling videos in a matter of hours.
I like the studio setting for the production of this series and Dan has the comfortable style of a seasoned presenter.

Excellent course. You will learn how to plan, design, and create engaging videos. Dan used his own methodology to create the course, so there are plenty of examples that show the step-by-step instructions. Highly recommended.

This course offers amazing insight. Never thought it could be so easy to produce your own high quality video. I showed it to my marketing manager and we decided to make our own video right away. Even professionals do not know it can be so easy, when agencies charge you so much for less.

This is a great course for anyone interested in creating hand drawn whiteboard videos. For those not familiar with Dan Roam and The Napkin Academy I think the title referring specifically to PowerPoint might do the course a slight disservice - the course, content and techniques covered are useful whatever combinations of tools you use. Dan's explanations and examples and the overall quality is excellent!

This course extends Mr. Roam's unique vision of presentation into the easy-to-understand video world. Just after starting the course I began seeing the many ways this video style could be used to convey important concepts to colleagues, clients and friends. Making my first video was an important step and this course is the best way to start.

Dan Roam "practices what he preaches." This course is well-organized and the content is clearly presented. Specific guidance about tools is one of the most valuable components of the course. This is also the kind of guidance that is most likely to become dated and to cause difficulties for people who do not have access to the specific tools. As a Mac user, I am one of those people. I found, however, that I could look at what Dan Roam was doing and use my own tools to generate similar results. Sections like #3 on storyboarding will remain helpful even if technology changes. One can see how if you really dig into this and practice, you could become good enough to sell your video-making services.

There can be no doubt that the course content was all-embracing, with easy to absorb Bytes of information. What is more, the final production quality is superb, and this was reinforced by the Instructors ability to hold the interest, which was highly engaging.
