Why take this course?

Welcome to the E3.fundamentals course.

This course will provide you with basic knowledge of the E3.series software used by companies such as BMW, Fiat, ABB, Alstom and more.

Throughout the classes, you will develop a basic understanding of the most used features of E3.series applied to electrical projects and see how the software works intelligently to optimize your projects with the modules:

E3.schematic

All the power you need to design & document your electrical control systems including schematic diagrams, terminal plans and PLCs.

  1. Smart rules prevent errors already during the design

  2. Drag & drop interface

  3. Fully customizable

  4. Integrates with the rest of your design work

E3.panel Plus

Create the physical representation of panels in 2D or 3D without the need of understanding M-CAD tools.

  1. 1:1 scaled panel drawing

  2. Prevent collisions with breakout and height restrictions

  3. Place parts in their correct location with intelligent snap points

E3.cable

Create detailed diagrams of complex cable plans and harnesses

  1. Create block diagrams

  2. Connect the blocks

  3. Document your entire system

E3.formboard

E3.formboard works with E3.cable and, together, they provide a complete solution for designing cable harnesses for manufacturing.

  1. Optimize your formboard creation

  2. Edit in one place, updated everywhere

  3. Complete  documentation, fully automated

Among the various contents, you will learn:

  • How to develop electrical schematic projects;

  • How to create panels;

  • Cable development;

  • How to Document cables and harnesses

Also, be sure to check out additional courses to further improve your processes.

This wasnt really much of a course. It did give some information but not enough to make it a course. The audio wasnt particularly clear and at every step of the way it tries to push you to go and buy a different course on another website. The free download of the software required to do this wasnt as it was advertised (probably because this is now out of date).

This is not even a course. Could've added more contents making inyo a paid course. Totally disappointed

Course touched just a few features of the software. Could have been more in-depth and well versed. Also, the software available could not be downloaded as was suggested in the video.

Its okay, but a over-alll-overview at the beginning would be helpfull and maybe a bit more side-information. The video also seems voice acted afterwards, because there are so many and so long speech pauses while the mouse is showing s.th. and marking elements (with I guess more information in the original language?) But all in all a nice getting started. Will have to do more tutorials....or learn it all by myself.

E3 series student version is not available. This course have a link to ask Zuken for a student version. Zuken rejects to give the student license and invites to buy their products.

The course does not explain how the cable harness is designed for vehicles. I found the software with many bugs. Is unable to design harness for my robot with this software.

Assignment 1 - There is no need to reflect on learning when the question is to ask what industry we are considering using E3.series for. Then to give feedback on other students responses is also unnecessary. Section 2 & 3 - The recorded volume is the videos is far too quiet. Section 4 - More discussion/narration should be presented to introduce the various windows and explain the library components (schematic file, 3D model, etc). - The multi-connection tool appears tedious with the demonstrator struggling to use it. - The link between the model and schematic was not explained, it would have been a good opportunity to elaborate on what the user is doing and how the sequencing of the design works.
