Why take this course?

The most comprehensive course on Docker is here. Our course covers all the aspects and features you need to know before starting your next project or moving your software to a docker based system.

Docker is an open-source tool that allows developers to wrap their codes into small containers or packets, along with everything that would be required for the code to run. This code can then be shipped to any other system (regardless of its operating system and supporting hardware), and be deployed on that particular system. Along with the software, Docker containers also include code, runtime, system tools, system libraries, and etc. in the container itself.

Sounds amazing, right? A portable software that runs on every environment without having to create virtual machines? We think so too! So, we designed this Docker course to help you learn Docker from scratch.

Designed for beginners, this course holds no presumptions. You do not need to know about Docker, containerization or even virtual machines. You only need to know simple Linux commands, that’s it!

Everything else will be covered in this comprehensive course.

You will learn a basic introduction to DevOps, containerization, a background of Docker including what is Docker and its role in today’s tech driven world. You will learn how to download and install Docker, learn about its command line, understand the container environment, build a container from scratch, understand how a Docker container operates including storage, networking, mitigating risks, different types of containers, using memory, packing software within containers, automation, distribution, etc.

At the end of this course, you will have a clear understanding of what is Docker and how you can use Docker to simplify developing and testing software and even apps. So, what are you waiting for? This course is just what the ‘Docker’ ordered!

I think that the course is good. But the sound is bad. I cannot hear it clear with the normal speed. So, I cannot listen it faster.

So far, so good! Akmed goes over the material at a good pace and gives a good background to place Docker in context and then proceeds to give good, succinct examples of it's use. He clearly explains the why of things, and how to get around issues often encountered, especially for those starting out.

Excellent course on Docker and its various uses. Very complete and broken down into easy to absorb pieces. Instructor is very knowledgeable and easy to listen too.

The course was superb! Ahmad has extensive knowledge about the subject and has a nice way of explaining concepts. There were a lot of practical exams, carefully planned and with its material available to download. It was very well planned organized and Ahmad's English is very fine, also!

Lectures are quite good, materials are well prepared, professional presented and demoing often is a big plus. Still room for some improvement on video quality and visibility of the demos (a single line of code in a full HD video seems a little small).

The course name and the content simply does not match. This course is focused on beginners and novices in Linux world and Docker; definitely not for Professionals. The usage of words, terminology and explanations is sometimes misleading. The "practical" examples will lead you to treat Docker containers as "easy-to-use" virtual machines, which is just one of the anti-patterns that you can learn in this course.

This was an EXCELLENT course. The material covered provided me the quickest way to get immersed in Docker. And while it is an introductory course it takes you through many aspects of Docker to give you a really good understanding of how it works and how to use it. The pace of the instructor was perfect; he was fast enough that I found my mind didn't have a chance to wander (I had to pay careful attention at all times otherwise I would have to pause the video).

It was a very basic class. It's organization in the beginning was suspect. If I didn't already know so much about Docker, I definitely would have been confused. For me, I got the impression that this was NOT a course with bare bones basics about Docker. It didn't teach me much. I learned more faster by reading the Docker web pages.

Good course. Good speed for those who have used docker before. Needs a bit more real-world use cases to drive home purpose of specific sections. At the time of the review, there's not a single response to a Q&A question, so that seems a bit disappointing for newbies having issues.

Very informative and nicely paced. I like the examples, as they are actually working processes and images. This makes the concepts much easier to understand. I also like that it is geared to intermediate and advanced users.

Good summary of docker usage. Needs to be updated for latest updates on docker (some more features added). Has minor errors but not much.

Congratulations for the course Ahmed! The course was well organized, clearly explained, with many hands-on examples and some very handy Linux commands to remember for future use. I learnt a lot. Thanks!

This is a solid well structured course with good explations of the concepts involved. There are many examples that you can follow along with and experiment with the material taught. The lessens, though, have no graphical material to illustrate the concepts being learned and the explanations are very dry and a little tedious. What is really missing, though, are the quizes at the end of the sections, which makes it difficult to check whether the material was understood or not.

The lectures are clear, in-depth and straightforward. I learned a lot of good information that is very applicable to what I need. Possibly the only fault I see, is that there are times when the lecturer describes things entirely verbally and kind of waves the sprite around when a diagram would have brought it home and made it clearer. Otherwise, I really recommend this series.
