Description

Structured Experimentation or Design of Experiment (DOE) helps Product Engineers to develop and refine designs. It is simply  not possible to develop optimal designs that deliver right product  performance without understanding the relationship between dependent and  independent factors (& within independent factors). Unstructured  experimentation consumes indefinite resources and time, that no  organizations have.

This is true for both Engineering Product Managers and Service Product Managers.

Similarly, both Engineering and Service Process Managers cannot optimize process parameters or design products without conducting structured experiments.

Quality Managers have to constantly improve the quality of product, its  reliability and that cannot happen without improvising design in a structured manner.

As a part of DMAIC or DFSS improvement projects, Lean Six Sigma Black Belts & Lean Six Sigma Green Belts are expected to find ways to improve the process and optimize it and it would not be possible with knowledge of structured experimentation (Design of Experiments - DOE)

This course is going to help Product and Process Engineering Managers from both Service & Engineering Sectors  to learn DOE from scratch.

Practical Knowledge of DOE is non-negotiable for any Product, Process, Quality Managers & Lean Six Sigma Black Belts.

Target Audience:

  • Product Managers

  • Process Managers

  • Quality Managers

  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belts

What you will accomplish after completing this course:

After completing the course you will be able to plan, set up, perform and  analyze Full Factorial, Fractional Factorial and Taguchi DOE

The course is good for a general overview of DoE. I did find that terms are often jumbled up or used interchangeably, which can get a little confusing. Aside from that it's well structured and well presented.

It was well explained. However, few topics could have been explained in more detail. For example the coding values, the Screening design, the Plackett-Burman designs and so on. And importantly, to decide how many repetitions or replicates have to be performed to obtain statistically relevant data. At the end of the course, it seemed that he didn´t want to take it too seriously, otherwise we would have received the data set for Taguchi and it would have included sufficient data to achieve the desired degree of Freedom. Overall, I liked to course, but it could have been a little more detailed.

I had difficulty following the lectures due to the pronounciation of some important technical terms and the bad written interpretation on the English caption.

A boarder course is needed to master the topic, but the course gives a good introductory hands-on exposure to the topic.

No estoy seguro. Pronunciación y subtítulos aparte, los conceptos están en general poco desarrolados. El profesor asume que tenemos acceso a minitab que es un software que cuesta 1500 €/año. Esto se podría haber desarrollado en excel.

I've already a previous experience with DOE and minitab usage and I look for more details and deeper knowledge

This course touched on DOE concepts in a very simple yet practical and detailed way. The instructor clearly displayed subject matter knowledge. As a young professional, I think this is a good performance booster for my career path.

The course is very knowledgeable and useful for me. It should include more detail and practical examples as well

It would be a lot better if: 1. Included the "Response Optimizer" step in this course., so we know a full cycle of DOE. 2. Change the slide format to enable load plenty of more information rather than just empty.

I am hoping to get more into the details soon. And I think the overall presentation of the course could be better.

It should be more better as just like a real class room instead of the discussion through the slides mode only.Because in this way lots of the information has been skipped.Thank you.

I find this course very effective in covering what seems to be important concepts of design of experiments.

Explaining the DOE concept with only one example is meaningless. Step by step approach in conducting a DOE experiment is missing. Examples from various industries will be useful. Interpretation of the Statistical data was not clear. It should have been explained in plain English for a person to understand the values. The course eligibility does not say prior knowledge on statistics is required.

Good work done by the Instructor. DOE is quite complex concept, the course material is designed to gain quick understanding and effective way, All Six Sigma enthusiast must go through this material.
