Data Governance for Small Businesses

It was not what I was seeking. It should be called intro to data security. There is nothing other than a few passing mentions about data life cycles, the business needs behind data governance...

I don't like for the speaker to read a PowerPoint slide to me. Too much information on each slide - consider using bullet points. I was hoping this was a little more in depth - my fault.

This was not about Data governance as much as it was a bout data protection. Data governance is about managing the data throughout the data life cycle. It should cover things like: • Data governance (Data Retention, Data Stewardship, Data Quality, Data Conversion, data Cleansing) • Source-to-Target data lineage mapping • Data Security policy and processes • Enterprise information Meta Data in applicable repositories Data Quality Assurance: • Database quality assurance, best practices, Health checks • Data Quality and its application in the database and affect on application information and functionality. • Dat quality evaluations for: ¤ Adherence to Data Quality standards ¤ Identification of data relationships and potential data integrity issues ¤ Identification of deviations from 3rd normal form and business impacts of deviation ¤ Satisfaction of business Data Quality rules ¤ Interface with other enterprise databases ¤ Conformance to Corporate Data retention polices (Legal, Business, and Analytics)

Course overall covered the subject, however didn't provide as much guidance towards establishing Data Governance processes, people, team structures or principles to ensure the Data Governance would sustain as the company continues to grow.
