Why take this course?

This course was designed to teach you to create a web page that can adapt it’s layout to fit on any screen size, as well as on paper when printed.

Web design requires the coordination of HTML, CSS, and graphics in order to construct a layout and design that can respond to the varying needs of your websites visitors.

In this step-by-step course, we’ll cover every aspect of converting a design into a fully functioning web page. We’ll create navigation menus, style typography, format and position graphics, create CSS animations, import free web fonts from Google, as well adjust our layout to fit a wide range of screens and devices.

And for those new to HTML, CSS, or web graphics, we have a few lessons explaining the core fundamentals of each, so you’ll be able to work through the course without missing a beat.

I felt the first part was 'backwards'. It was 'here is the html and here is what it looks like'. I would have appreciated the narrative as 'here is what I want it to look like and here is how I code it.' That is the way one does it in real life. The building of the media tags worked that way and worked well. Other than that, it worked pretty well for me and kept me involved by trying to match the code and make it work.

This if the first front-end course I've found on Udemy that actually looks like a proper tutorial prepared by a professional rather than just someone bashing out code while you watch and calling it a learning course; my only regret is that having been produced in 2015 I suspect that it's somewhat out of date but as I'm upskilling from my early noughties web skills it's got me significantly closer to a modern skillset.

was fantastic in 2014, but now things have changed, no reference to rem, vh or vw, or mobile first coding. Even though i discovered things I did not knew.

Es muy buena la explicación, se avanza rápido pero a veces se le pierde el foco como los tamaños que no se explican al inicio y ciertas propiedades que no funcionan en conjunto

very good content but : - pace way too fast - monotonous voice - course would benefit from adding exercises to prevent students from being passive

I love the way you explain things. It is just easy to follow up with all the detailed information you gave us while changing lines, files, adding content. I think it is very intuitive and academic! thank you!

Well, this course is already a little outdated. It would be more useful to look at adaptive layout on flex or grid. But in addition to the general principles of responsive layout, it was useful to look at the layout for printing. Thanks you.

Great overview of techniques used in responsive design, presented in a well structured course. You should have some basic CSS-knowledge though, otherwise the pace might be a bit fast.

This course was exactly what I was hoping it would be. The instructor was very clear in his instructions and easy to follow what and why he was doing if you have some background in html and css.

The course covers a lot of the basics, and some advanced topics too, of mainly CSS. But it's so fast-paced that it's difficult to keep up if you want to follow along without pausing regularly. Sadly that also means a lot of the explanations get lost because you're busy catching up. But if you want to know how to build a responsive website from the ground up, this course is perfect!

Chris Converse once again takes a somewhat complex subject and teaches you how to code a responsive website from scratch, using the latest HTML5 markup and CSS media queries. If you're not yet familiar with these terms, you'll be up to speed in no time. Trust me, you will not receive better, clearer responsive web tutorials than the ones that Chris Converse puts out. I've been following him and have taken many of his courses since 2009.

Clear diction, a knowledgeable tutor and interesting content. A lot of this material was new to me, so I think I'll have to keep dipping into the course in the future! Highly recommended!

FANTASTIC JOB CHRIS!!!! I purchased this course a few hours ago and went through it from start to finish. I also coded along with Chris in my editor. (took me about 8 hours as I took a few breaks here and there) This was the most concise and easy to follow course I have ever taken. Chris explains things as he goes in such a way, that things just clicked in my brain. I LOVED learning how to create print layouts... my mind was expanded after taking this course. I highly recommend it. It's well worth the price!
