The Fastest Way to Learn Vuforia 8 and Develop 16 Augmented Reality Apps using Unity SDK in under 5 hours!

Why should I take this course?

There are plenty of courses on Augmented Reality, with courses that run over 10 hours. When I got started in AR, I wanted to learn the Vuforia as quick as possible, because for obvious reasons, time is money. The company I was working for at the time, didn't have the luxury of time to spend on long training courses. So we had to learn learn Vuforia in our own time outside work hours, can you believe it!

After watching  tons of courses and reading through Vuforia documentation, I realized that this SDK is really quite simple and the key concepts to started with developing apps can really be learnt in just a few hours.

That is why I developed this course, to teach you all the  fundamentals of the Augmented Reality in the shortest time;  so that you can get started developing your own Augmented Reality Apps and decrease your time to market. Being compact does not mean that we compromise on content, we cover the exact same content as courses that run over 10 hours.

Who is my lecturer? And what makes you qualified to teach me?

My Name is Ritesh Kanjee and I host the popular YouTube Channel called Augmented Startups with over 62 000 subscribers. I am an AR/AI Developer with a Masters Degree in Electronic Engineering, teaching over 46 000 students on Udemy. With over 7 years of AR and Unity experience, you can trust that you are in the right hands.

Okay so your qualified! What will I learn in this course?

This course is designed to help you understand the fundamentals of Augmented Reality using the Vuforia SDK in Unity through practical and easy to understand labs.

This class covers these capabilities, including getting started, simple and multiple target detection, smart terrain as well as leap motion integration. You will learn all the fundamentals through practice as you follow along with the training.

Together we will build a strong foundation in AR in Unity SDK with this training for beginners. This course will enable you to:

  • Get started in Unity and how to download the Vuforia SDK

  • Create a simple AR app with a floating cube

  • Once you have mastered the basics we go ahead and create multiple targets in Augmented Reality

  • Create virtual buttons to add interactivity to your AR apps.

  • Display Video on a physical wall.

  • Leverage the Leap Motion Controller to create a pinch drawing app in AR. (Really Cool!)

  • Implement Vuforia's smart terrain algorithm to detection objects in Real Time!

  • Detect Cylindrical Target Objects and animate markers

  • Vuforia 7 and Unity 2017.3

He didn't answer the questions like how to install in ubuntu. Don't take the course and get puzzled at every step

Nilesh31 May 2020

you were not teaching much about AR, you told how you do it but not how us to do it step wise. during the whole course you were selling products.

Kevin29 May 2020

Worse than Youtube, each video is the version of Hello World of AR. To do anything remotely interesting requires further spending in the asset store in Unity for E.D.I.T.H. even that has its issues.

Rodolfo6 April 2020

Really nice course, it explain the good parts of unity, please create more courses like this to go deep into Unity and vuforia, with examples, the only thing to improve is to remove the old parts of vuforia's old versions and put more newer stuff with the funcionalities.

Michelle22 March 2020

I would definitely recommend this course! The AR content was really valuable and well presented! I really enjoyed the course. There was a point where I got stuck but the instructor helped me along the way. Thank you!

Lot of things are invalid now. Like OCR not found. I was searching how to make virtual button working on my android phone which is bit more detailed. I could not make it work. Works in Unity Editor. Advanced use cases like the game created in unreal could be part of unity use cases, so that we can get a better advanced example use case. For basic vuforia , unity integration it is good tutorial. Though it should be updated with latest unity version.

BTal14 June 2019

There have been updates to Unity and Vuforia that probably need to be reflected. Seems like Vuforia is automatically included with the latest versions of Unity? Vuforia version 8.1 no longer has a Unity download option and the text "Vuforia Engine is also delivered with the latest versions of Unity."

Santiago12 November 2018

Buena manera de explicar, el problema es que esta un poco des actualizado en cuanto a las descargas y muy confuso las versiones, no pude completarlo muy bien.

Putu5 October 2018

First of all, Thank you for the Videos and Lectures. Since I just started with AR, I recognize a lot of updates of software coming and every new version there are improvements on how to create things. How can we keep ourself updated to the changes? I am starting to get into business with AR but if the software keeps changing, it is quite a risk to maintain it. How do you see it? Looking eagerly forward for your reply and comments. I really appreciate it. Best Regards yindy

Sadly there is very little unique content here that I can see. This is simply a video replication of the Vuforia tutorials. There are no code insights or advanced topics. About the only unique tutorial is the leap motion one, but that's quite niche.

Rick1 August 2018

the installer and setup instructions seemed clear. but I can't test if the common issues and fixes provided at the start of the course apply to my situation, because the actual "practicing" in this course has yet to begin.

Sergio13 June 2018

I appreciate his enthusiasm about the topic, but I have learned more from googloing the answers to all my questions than from his class. This course is seriously outdated and really hard to follow as result of it. Vuforia and Unity have change menus, tools, and packages and that is not explained anywhere in the video. Furthermore, most of the Q and A from Udemy for this course is also old and not matching my searches to my questions. The newest answers I got is 8 months old, and it does not help nor any of the other answers. The instructor also skip basic explanation on how to see the result of the work. I will reconsider giving a better review when I can actually learn something useful from an updated version of this course (I hope there is an update soon with better explanation on all the ins and outs of the newest versions of Vuforia and Unity) For the moment I can only thanks Google, Unity and the Vuforia community for all the answers that I did not get here.

Les11 May 2018

I appreciate the fact that these videos begin with an industry overview to contextualize the work ahead.

Matthew12 April 2018

This tutorial is VERY basic and a waste of my money. He is just simply placing Vuforia objects in scenes and showing what works out of the box. Youtube already shows how to do this. This tutorial should dig into the Vuforia API more and show how to script more complex things. Also it should show the new upgrades in Vuforia 7. He does this a little bit in the tutorial. However, when I go out of my way to buy a Udemy tutorial I'm expecting an in-depth guide. Something that not only shows a new technology, but shows how to use it in complex and interesting ways.

Juan4 April 2018

Great course, however the software versions has now updated and the installation process, and user interface has changed a little bit.
