Very good introduction to Qt. Could probably use a little more content. A couple hours on a different platform, such as mobile or embedded, perhaps.

Edit: The second section makes up for some major issues with this course. This makes me wonder how much more of the Qt ide could have been explored in lieu of the basic c++ review. **Please add a section that covers adding dependencies and external libraries. I took this course to make my life easier when continue writing my vision system application. I had to take this tangent because Visual Studio makes GUI development in c++ unnecessarily painful. Edit: and im paraphrasing.."use 'const' because getters dont change anything - and doesnt use the 'const' keyword himself. Im annoyed now, so im starting to nitpick because of how little Qt GUI programming is actually covered in this course. Edit: teaches the delete keyword in a function for Rectangle pointers, but he should have also taught you to put delete heap allocations in class 'destructors'....if we are covering the fundamentals of c++ in a course labelled 'intermediate' Edit: logical/ arithmetic operators are basic c++, not intermediate, and not unique to Qt. Passing by value and by reference are basic c++ concepts. They are not unique to Qt. Is this entire course aside from the 2nd section filler? is there some kind of size limit for a course that is being met with this bloat? Feels early to leave feedback. The prof is well spoken and easy to understand. The review of Qt nuances is appreciated.

The course is pretty well made and the explanations are pretty much clear, and also show some perks about some Qt features, but it's also short and doesn't really go more in depth on many other Qt features

This course is short, but does a good job introducing you to developing GUI applications (something which I had not done in C++ before this). Having previously taken a beginner's course in C++, I was familiar with most of the concepts used other than the GUI itself. However, if you haven't used C++ before, I would recommend first learning the beginning/intermediate concepts like functions, vectors, pointers and classes. My biggest complaint is that, during the beginning of the course, when he was showing how to setup the IDE we used, he seemed to forget an important part of the setup, but he never went back to correct it. Fortunately, I found a guy in the comments who had the solution. If you get this course and encounter a problem during the setup, look up the comment titled "Mac - No suitable kits found [Resolved]". Overall, I'm glad I took this course. Aside from the setup, the instructor's teaching was easy to follow. If you want to learn the basics of GUI development, I would fully recommend this. Again, this course is not meant as an introduction to C++. It's intended for people who already have some understanding of the language.

John is a pleasure to listen to while setting a great pace. This is a very clean course that both refreshes C++ basics and introduces you to the wild world of Qt (pronounced "cute").

Thorough explanation of everything. Helps me on my transition from proprietary technology to open source tools. Very useful for me! Even though I am a seasoned developer of business applications with a lot of experience on the field.

Dr. J is a wonderful instructor and his methodology works very well. I tried another GUI builder but it was difficult to find a useful tutorial. Then I saw this course by Dr. J featuring QT... This course is perfect for me. Excellent course if you want to get into c++ gui's

Only doing the first section so far, but it is very engaging. Ok, halfway through and it continues to be great. After doing the QUI "coding" would not compile. I found I had entered a wrong name in the MainWindow objectname. Fixed that and it worked great. Finding the error was interesting.
