Why take this course?

When you have finished this course you will be understand how an electrical system can be designed for any construction site.

The course will go into detail on the following areas :-

  •  Introduce the principles of operation for a site electrical system, why they need to be designed in a certain manner to achieve a system that is safe, durable & cost effective.
  •  Look at the key elements of the electrical system including the generation and distribution systems, grounding, residual current devices & cabling
  •  Show how a lock and tag system can be used to make the system safe for all users.
  • Show how to size electrical cables based on the current carrying capacity and volt drop.
  • Provide basic guidelines of how to size circuit breakers & generators

The course consists of short videos on each key subject with questions provided at the end of each section to test your knowledge.

The topics are not advanced however cover electrical principals at sites. Some of the topics are well explained.

A more than wonderful course, combining simplicity and short, direct and interesting information without getting bored at all, really well done eng. Stephen Brooks, and we hope for more future courses in the field of electrical design, as well as Power generation plants, transmission and distribution systems.

Great course. Teacher is very knowledgeable of the course and breaks it down in very simplistic ways students should be able to understand.

If you are new to the construction sector, or you need to learn how to do everything with high standards you should take this course. The instructor is so good at explaining basic methods which a lot of engineers might misunderstand. Even I know most of the information that was shared here. seeing all of them in one place and well organized was extremely helpful.

The presenter was very engaging. The material is broken down in logical segments and easy to digest/take notes.

As a non-electrical engineer, this course helped me to understand some of the basics that quite often encountered but not understood. The implementation of photographs along with the schematics made the course much more interesting and applicable in real life situations. Also to be noted that this course is mentioned to construction sites, but offers valuable information for similar installations also, like marine power installations. As the instructor is very engaging, I hope that in the future decides to create a course teaching how to draw and read large scale electrical drawings.

I really enjoyed this and the Electrical Power Equipment course! I've certainly learned a lot. I wish I had taken them both prior to my last set of job interviews - I'm quite sure the result would have been different! Stephen responded really quickly to some questions that I had and gave really comprehensive answers. 10/10.

first at all thanks for this data, but to be honest your information more than easily, not useful for any electrical engineer maybe you just remind me some information from the first year in the college, hope next course will be more specialized. such as you don't mention anything about how to do the earthing system or even how to laying a cable .................................. etc

The course is great and practical... I studied Electrical Engineering, but most of the time we focus only on circuit analysis. This course gives me ideas to better improve my Electrical Design and to make Testing Easier and Organized. There are some clerical and grammatical errors but for me it's irrelevant as it does not totally affect my learning on this course... Many thanks to the Instructor for sharing his ideas at an affordable price!

It is good idea to provide information in the course description about Electrical Regulations on which this content is based. Definitely It's not a British Standards 7671.

It was well clear, although some doubts were arising. It was a good refresh for me after 16 years out of electrical installations.
