I cannot simultaneously watch him draw the letters and read the subtitles, and my Hindi/Urdu is still basic, so I cannot understand what he is saying.

It’s definitely are very engaging course! The instructor does fantastic to take you in the flow of learning to write Urdu. And a good idea to wrap the language specialist in the practice sessions and subtitle him! I’m very happy and it will be good foundation for my Urdu learning. Thanks!

Avoid this course like a plague! I saw the first free preview and thought that it would teach me how to write urdu. But the course does not teach you how to write urdu. He does not explain the use of vowels for example how to write put, pit, pet etc. The instructor will only teach you how to join the consonants suc as pt but nothing about vowels. The actual course duration is not even 1 hour. The rest is a girl trying to write herself and wasting your time in process. Until and unless these people add some videos explaining how to use the vowels, please do not opt for this course. I am currently in third chapter and this fellow already assumes that you knowhow to read urdu and and is writing some very simple words without explaining the handwriting. If there had been a refund policy, I would certainly demand it back, They are falsly claiming to teach you writing urdu and handwriting skills. Even his handwriting is worst. Will wait for new videos on joining vowels to be added to review the course again. Seems like I have been scammed!
