Why take this course?

Build your own Augmented Reality Multiplayer Games with Apples ARKit & Googles ARCore!

  • Create one of the first Multiplayer Augmented Reality Games at all (Look in the Google PlayStore or in the App Store, there are only a handful of them)
  • We will use the ARInterface that combines ARKit and ARCore in one Scene
  • All Apps are running on IOS & on Android
  • Learning by Doing, we will code all from scratch

Why should you learn Augmented Reality?

  • Augmented Reality is in it's early stages
  • There is still much potential to create awesome Applications.
  • The demand for Augmented Reality apps is bigger than ever before
  • Break into a brand new industry expected to be worth $165 billion by 2024

The most awaited battle between Google and Apple has finally started. The war of augmented reality SDKs. Google’s ARCore is the answer to Apple’s ARKit’.  So the question is: should we use ARCore or ARKit for Augmented Reality Development? - The answer: It doesn't matter. Just use the ARInterface that combines ARKit & ARCore.

The course is outdated, looking at the lack of replies to comments, the author has lost all interest in supporting the course.

It helped me to solve some doubts, still need to fix some obsolete videos at start of this course. but ignoring it, I am closer to make my project

This is the most amateur made course with so bad explanation of the main thing AR Foundation(Interface) which is not updated with in the course and it only showcases the samples I WARN YOU NOT TO WASTE MONEY ON THIS

1. The accent of the instructor is hard to understand, but the instructor try his best to speak English, appreciate it! Even with automatic translation, it would be best to manually enter captions, as differences in slang can lead to non-standard translations. 2. The instructor did not explain all the steps in depth, just provide the file, and then let the students follow the development steps. 3. I don't know whether the course are outdated or I still don't understand ARCore & ARKit, I think some of the part just touch n' go. Even though the process is works but I did't learn anything.

Its a solid intro to AR and a good transition from general Game Asset creation. However the course is outdated with Unity's ARInterface and latest Unity stable build (18.3.0f) won't compile ARInterface out of the box. The updates with Unity's ARFoundation are scarce in understanding and illustration (should be videos instead of plain written descriptions). The multiplayer chapter (tanks) is misleading especially since there are shared AR experiences with either ARCore and ARKit. Updating it with Cloud Anchors (as it works both for Android and iOS) would certainly hit it out the ballpark.

He doesn't explain WHY we are doing some things. Just blindly following hoping it will all make sense over time. It's all working very well, though. He just seems lazy... excited to finally be done with this class so I can start a different AR review from someone who actually explains some of the logic.

Just dragged and dropped few objects, nothing concrete in programming related for the interface, Although photon was good

The contents of lecture are practical, and easy to understand. It would be better if adding subtitles, for the accent of the instructor is hard to understand...

This new Unity libraries that combines ARKit and ARCore together are promising. We all must contribute to push them. The instructor gets you to point and to the examples that you need to use everyday. I hope that in the future more examples can be added (in particular using Scaling and Meshes over AR in Game Boards or RPG's smaller than the size of a room), but right now, for a novice in AR with Unity, this is the course you'll need. After taking several ARKit courses in Udemy (and even a really bad course in Udacity), this is the only one I recommend 100%.
