I had always wondered how artists made their colored pencil work have so many nuances of color. Diane did a great job of showing how to build up the layers to create that effect. Her explanation and demonstration of how to properly measure the angles and edges of the candle to create an accurate image from the reference photo was extremely helpful. I particularly appreciated her explanation of how to avoid the football-shaped ellipse, which is something I struggle with usually.
This is my second course with Diane (the first was her oil pastel beginner's course) and I already have a third ready to go - her soft pastel beginner's course. I am sure it will be just as good as the others. I will probably tackle her acrylics for beginners after that as I am trying to create a solid foundation in a number of mediums.
Thank you, Diane!

Wasn't sure what to expect but was happy with the outcome. I would have liked more instruction on using the colourless blender.

Great class learned a lot about color blending, and colored pencils. Never had much luck with colored pencils, but I am impressed with the drawing I made following Diane's instructions.
