Description

Have you ever took a picture you loved its colors and when you opened it on your PC and then on your laptop it did not look as expected, and does not even look exactly the same on both machines?

Then you tried to print that picture and were disappointed as the print does not look as you expected?

Your picture has lots of beautiful Greys but these Greys looked greenish in the print and not close to the Grey purity you expected?

Worse, you have a Black and White photo, you printed it and then you noticed it is not pure Black and White and there are some other inks shifting the B&W hues?

You wanted to print a certain color of a certain brand, and you cannot achieve that color in your prints even you have tried all of your best to match those colors?

You are a wide format printer operator or designer for printing house and part of your job is to place the right colors in your designs that should when printed match those corporate colors, and you are struggling?

In this course we are going to have those problems explained, and suggest solutions for them.

This is a simplified, practical and vendor neutral course.

Whether you are a photographer, a person who likes to print his/her photos to look the best, or you are that operator or designer, a student or a person who wants to know more about colors and digital printing, then this course is for you!

If you want to learn about why it can be difficult to match prints to the images you see on your computer or phone, this course is very helpful and I learned a lot. But if you're a photographer looking for practical advice on a good digital printing workflow, this course comes up short.

The course seems to be made by a print operator who has a lot of experience on how to get his colors right. However a lot of the processes, techniques, and essentials that are very important to color management are not discussed at all or discussed without any visuals and therefore lacking substance to really understand the matter. Main points I'm missing most are: DeltaE, Color Gamut, Gamma, Rendering Intents. This course might only be of any help if you are printing for yourself and find the colors are somewhat off from expectation, or if you have some kind of real world reference you can compare the colors to. If you're planning on using a online printing service, with this course, you will not learn anything on how to prepare your documents in order to get the results you expect. You will also not be able to reproduce correct color, if you are printing a document and don't have a reference to compare it's color to. lucky me, i got the course during a sale and didn't pay full price...

The information and examples in the course were very good and it covered all of the topics I was hoping to learn about. My only complaint is that it was not very concise and it felt very drawn out even when watching on 1.5 speed. I feel like 30-45 min could have been easily cut out through pauses, repetitive points and general elongation of information that was already clearly explained in the same or previous lectures. Generally though, I definitely would recommend this course

This course covers what is needed to understand how to achieve good colour in a digital process with a very practical approach. There is a lot of information on the internet on the subject but this course brings it all together in a logical sequence. It is also technology / vendor agnostic. The realisation is good with explanatory visual. Perhaps some sections towards the end of the course are broken up in overly granular episodes but I found this a very minor issue. Hence 5 stars.
