☑ Coping...with Christmas...with January...with February
☑ Daily lectures on key areas of coping with the stresses that the Christmas period will bring
For the Christmas Period section:
It looks like the Christmas month i.e. December is going to be cold, with economic woes, COVID woes - to add to the usual problems of 'flu, anxiety (over Christmas) loneliness, health problems - and stress. Already in the Autumn there were record increases in alcohol consumption. Record rises in abuse, suicides and...hospital waiting lists.
This course - Christmas Blues - is quite simply, a daily dose of positivity, hints, tips, encouragement, advice, ideas and invitations to participate. In September the 'September Blues' was launched on several existing courses and was met with praise. This course includes various extracts from the September Blues course.
The course has now started - and here is an extract from the latest review:
"This IS a course where you get just as much, if not more, from the other students than you do from the teacher. This IS a course where you'll find yourself diving down rabbit holes after interesting information that you never would have thought to research if left to your own devices. This course is the equivalent of both a morning cup of coffee to fire you up and a steamy cup of tea beside the fireplace in the evening to help you wind down. This course is only as good as you make it through your own participation. Come join us, there's plenty of time to catch up!"
This was then extended to cover 2021 blues!

I can't express my feelings in words. (My gratitude I mean) I was really feeling down and thought, "Why not?" so I signed up and Chris changed my ENTIRE outlook on life. (some parts anyway) Thank you SO much.
1. Opinions of this course will be more subjective than others. PLS DO read the instructor's warning regarding course involvement. The instructor is very knowledgeable and engaging, as well as open to Q&A. He also goes to great lengths preparing material for each lecture. It's very subjective as to finding the course enjoyable, or if it cheers you up. i did enjoy conversing via postings with folks from all over the world. Some lectures were great, simulating interesting conversation among students such as time-travel. Some topics did not cheer me up, but I discovered my own self-motivation and inspiration are sufficient in most cases. I did learn the term pottering, and will look for pottering opportunities in the new year. I highly recommend sampling this course before enrolling. Also bonus Art Therapy lessons are included. So again, pls review the course description and understand what the course is before choosing to enroll..
I am only halfway through the course, so I will update with a much more extensive review when the course actually ends, but I felt compelled to comment now, in case anyone might be contemplating and hesitating about getting this course... Dont' wait and just do it! It is fantastic, and delivers well well above expectations. Every day is filled with inspirational and uplifting lectures and exercises. I cannot recommend it enough! Superbe!
Thank you for this amazing & positive course. I really enjoyed it & it increased my knowledge.I loved the lectures & the way the instructor explains things in a fun way, it's interesting & you won't get bored! :)
This has got to be one of my favorite courses that I've signed up for since joining Udemy. In between working on my more serious Art Therapy and personal development courses, it is wonderful to have this course like a little treat at the end of my study time. The daily videos are JUST the right length. There's not a single person around who cannot find five to ten minutes to watch a video during a break in the day. They're not so long that they could feel intimidating, especially when you're already dealing with some of the symptoms of depression. I feel so productive after working through one of these videos and researching my answer to the daily question. It really leaves me feeling fired up and ready to go accomplish something with the rest of my day, even if it's just mindfully pottering about the house. DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THIS COURSE IF YOU WON'T DO THE WORK This is not one of those courses where the whole point is to print out your certificate at the end to put in a folder for your next annual review at work. This is not a course which will give you everything you need to know to launch a whole career around battling December Blues. (That's a psychology degree and takes a few more hours than this). This IS a course where you get just as much, if not more, from the other students than you do from the teacher. This IS a course where you'll find yourself diving down rabbit holes after interesting information that you never would have thought to research if left to your own devices. This course is the equivalent of both a morning cup of coffee to fire you up and a steamy cup of tea beside the fireplace in the evening to help you wind down. Yes. For me it has not been sports, instead, in previous years, I have used mindfulness, nature, hobbies.
What I feel sitting on this side is, coming up with a new lecture new theme every day is such a big task, added Chris’s dedication to be available from that side, is absolutely commendable, breaking all the barriers of city, state, country, culture .. with such a noble intention to facilitate joy in depressed times. We all feel we have that wisdom but giving it on daily basis, really really take efforts and I can say having done his September Blues section. I would add here that where there’s a will there’s a way, If Chris can be available with all his wisdom, I am sure we can participate with full dedication to help ourselves, which surely I am looking forward to.
