Why take this course?

As with all my courses, this is a serious course for candidates that is looking to learn what it takes to be a CCNP. CCNA was the basics and it was a lot to learn. Now it is time to not just learn a topic, but to understand them. This is where you need to stop using courses that just give you 5 minute videos on a Topic. I have seen Private Vlans taught in 8 minutes. How you can you call your self a CCNP with 8 minutes of training.

We go through topics in the way to make sure you can fish for a life time. If you take your studies seriously, then this is the course for you. If you are looking for handouts and 5 minute clips because you paid $10 for the course, you will be disappointed here. This course takes serious commitment over a period of time to complete.

You will find this course giving you the power to watch, learn, and stand on your own two feet. How this possible, because of my mission. Others are here to make money for their courses. I am here to provide you the tools to be successful with understanding the technology. The By-Product is you being able to pass the exam, and become the Engineering that you deserve to be.

Be Determined!

Be Strong!

Be Cisco!

The main reason why I'm taking this course is to increase my knowledge in networking & to be a better network engineer. I have chosen this instructor because among all other instructors that I have found, he is the only one that explains things in understandable detailed fashion which helped me in my work environment. I may not recommend this course to those who only want to get the CCNP certification as they may not be interested in the detailed description of things. However, I highly recommend this course to those who want to gain detailed knowledge in networking.

I am about 1/3 the way through this and find it somewhat unhelpful for a couple of reasons: 1) The diagrams could be more useful if they would only follow what he is talking about. He will enter commands without identifying on the diagram where he is working. 2) The biggest problem I have is I feel this is one big troubleshooting session rather than teaching important points. So, there are mistakes made (which he does correct BUT valuable time is taken as he works through the problem). Why can't the videos be edited to cut out the troubleshooting stuff? Why can't the labs be set up prior to shooting the videos because he ends up going through this stuff so fast that I cannot follow the reasoning. Very frustrating! I am about done watching as there are better production efforts out there that will not waste my time. 3) Finished this course and still rate it three stars. The Private VLAN portion was the best of all as it was very informative, correct, and he did not spend a lot of time troubleshooting issues with his VMWare or network. 4) Unfortunately he spent A LOT of time in Lessons 62 and 63 troubleshooting his VMWare. It kind of pissed me off since I wanted to be taught, not watch him troubleshoot. 5) There were some inane statements made such as in Lesson 63 where he states "Static means what it means". C'mon, what a stupid comment!! 6) Finally, there were some outright mistakes made both on his slides and as he spoke which caused confusion, especially if you are not well-versed in the subject. For instance, in Lesson 59 a slide states that HSRP is defined by RFC 2338 when in fact that is the RFC for VRRP. HSRP is defined by RFC 2281. There are also numerous spelling errors on his slides, too numerous to outline here. Clearly there was very little, if any, QA done on this course which very much detracted from its value, as if the instructor did not really care if it was accurate or not. As such, I will not be purchasing any more of his courses in the future. Too bad because there is a lot of good information he has, it is just not presented well IMHO.

Very good instructor, he spent a lot of time on very important topics, not just omit like most instructors do. I really enjoyed this course. Thanks and waiting for more courses!

The first part is really an introduction. Perfect for CCNA. But if you go for CCNP you should already be familiar with that. The last parts are actually a pretty good complement to the books I use.

Just went through few videos and i found Kiel's teaching style is more solid for a serious study which Cisco certifications or real job environments required today dearly. Any Cisco aspirant would benefit from his videos. A full Lab at the end would support the course material and made more engaging but so far one of the best Cisco CCNP SWITCH material out there i would love to recommend. PS: just came to revise my rating after 3 yrs , after being more knowledgeable on the subject matter , whole heartedly this course by Kiel deserves a full 5 Star. NO QUESTION ASKED

I love Kiel's way of teaching, I've followed his courses for a while and enjoy the extra gotchas and warnings he gives to apply to on the job experiences in this course.
