The term baroque was introduced by art critics to describe a wide range of styles and artists from the seventeenth century. The Baroque was born in Italy, and later adopted in France, Germany, the Netherlands, England and Spain. The Counter-Reformation was a comprehensive effort composed of five major elements: Reactionary defense of Catholic sacramental practice , Ecclesiastical or structural reconfiguration, Religious orders, Spiritual movements, and Political dimensions. As the 17th century progressed the Baroque style spread to the Protestant countries. Baroque is a term that applies to art, architecture, music and theater. The Catholic Church was the leading patron of the arts across much of Europe. The goal of much art in the Counter-Reformation, especially in Rome and Flanders, was to restore the predominance and centrality of Catholicism. In areas where Catholicism predominated, architecture and painting, and to a lesser extent music, reflected Counter-Reformation goals.

I teach subjects as I wish they were taught to me. The Mission Statement. Education is a tool for the improvement of successive generations. I hear and I forget. I see and I remember. shallow overview, with poor language commentary: everything being "very very beautiful" and "really really colourful" or "powerful" "nice!", "ahhh" "oooh". Difficult to follow and to remain engaged in.
