It's a great course, very practical, maybe it would be a good idea to add some general information about design, structures and a little bit of theory about the subject. This is not a course for a complete beginner, I think that wasn't so clear in the promotion.

Presenter is very hard to understand. His accent is just too thick. Subtitles are pretty accurate, however, which is the only reason I did not refund the course. The course is quite informative and pretty good for someone who was already familiar with JavaScript and doesn't mind reading subtitles instead of listening.

Basically it was good, and explained most of the changes. The topic and the example API was excellent, this is a good combination for starting from scrathc. I'll get more course from him later :) A few things which could be went better: - Slow down in speech, there was a few times when cannot hear and also the captions cannot identify what you have said. - Don't rush if you are creating such a videos, because it's very annoying, also you're made a lot of typo and other kind of mistakes, because you were in a rush.

This is very superficial. A lot of time is spent on meaningless coding. Whereas the logic of REST API design is seldom discussed.

This course taught me quite a bit and was a really great course to understand Node.js, the structures and functionality of APIs, as well as introduced me to some libraries I have never used before. If you're wanting to learn about APIs, this is a good course for you!

Initially I gave this course 4.5 stars because I was very pleased with the results; however it was my first ever udemy course. Then I took a few other courses, and came to the conclusion that this is a 5 star course easy. No fluff, get's to the point with a great project using great conventions/standards.

Updated review: 70% finished and the course has gotten a lot better! The only issue is the mic is very low and difficult to hear the teacher, and some concepts maybe can be explained in more details. But the content is very good and I hope the teacher will make a react native cli MERN stack (not expo) course some day.

Coming from building API's in Rails with a PostgreSQL database I was having a hard time understanding the conventions and calls for Express/MongoDB. This course has really helped me find the connections and provided a good foundation to continue building on my own. The one thing I would love would be a little more explanation on how the code connects within the express app. There are times when I'm not quite sure why we have to add something in or why it works in a certain order but not in another and having more clarity on that would make the course even stronger!
