Good for beginners, would have been good to see better practices such as utilization of viewmodels, generics to clean up the api service, abstracting out components in pages. Would also have been nice to include a lesson on local api deployment for those who don't want to publish.

Very cool project, it helped me understand how the API works and all the steps in .Net Maui. I would expand it by rewriting the app. to MVVM and an admin interface for managing the content of the database. Thank you!

I was disappointed that MVVM was not utilized, that's what I really wanted to get out of this was to see how MVVM comes into play with these apps. Also there was basically no attention given to Android devices, which seems silly, if you're developing mobile apps you should make sure the app works on both major devices that .net maui targets. Overall it was quick and dirty so if thats all you need is to get an app off the ground and working then I guess this is what you might want but I think its lacking overall.

I had to start over, more or less, because the API code base wasn't supplied and it wasn't obvious which repo to clone to get the API working correctly. Also, the way bookmarks are returned with properties is inconsistent and therefore confusing. The code construction process is pretty straightforward - a bit repetitive but that's to be expected.

Great for a beginner to .net maui development! Videos are short and up to the point. Not like some other instructors who stretch a 3m video into 15m. I like how Asfend teaches without rushing through things. I watch a new video with normal speed and then at 1.5x for revising it later. This way of learning helps me learn faster and save time. The topics are well structured. They flow naturally. I also liked how he shows the design before coding the UI. App's architecture is aimed at beginners to not overwhelm them with topics like MVVM and state management. These topics are not required for a simple data presentation app like this one. MVVM is perfect when building complex apps with multiple screens using TDD approach and features like Real time Chat / Social Networking / Animations / Gaming etc. For simple apps or MVP's, the code behind approach works fine. Once the idea is validated, one can refactor later. I like how he prefers to keep things simple. His courses would be perfect for startup founders. They usually want to quickly get an MVP built and validate their idea before making the app more complex. Overall I'm happy with my purchase and recommend this course!
