Why take this course?

This course leads you on a unique learning journey through some of the most eventful years in Britain's entire history. From the hunger strikes of the 1930's to the Blitz of the 1940's to the establishment of the welfare state by the 1950's, this course covers it all.

Each video lecture contains a detailed analysis of each event within its historical context - this is not just a regurgitation of well known facts. The course explores some lesser known incidents in depth such as the Jarrow Crusade or the post war Nationalisation of major industry. Through quizzes and other suggested activities, there is also the opportunity to assess your own learning as you go. The course will take between 2 and 3 hours to complete in its entirety.

I'm passionate about this period of History being British myself and I know that I bring that enthusiasm for this incredibly interesting period into each section of the course. I look forward to welcoming you as a new student!

Lots of useful information. Very much delivered in Lecture style. Some technical difficulties with the quizzes, and one incidence of inaccurate information. However it did inspire me to find my old GCSE course books and re read this era of British History.

Well, the instructor lectures were pretty precise. His teaching has a lot of recognition to the facts during the great depression of the years 1920 to 1939 and the war of the world following great Britain and Germany who are the reasonable cause for misconceptions of the world survival for our global political economy. Resources were economizing to a dole average of certain minimum percentages that was constantly dropping. But I must complete this social logical course in order to decide on what true faction accumulated during the great depression and as far as its feasible collaboration itself of millennium outcomes.

It's a good match for my expectation. I have 4 specific suggestions. 1. The teacher should first present a summary of his presentation, preferably in a powerpoint-like slide format, and explain it in 1-2 minutes. Then s/he may present as is being done now. 2. A timeline on the side of the screen (maybe two seperate timelines in certain situations, like when one is comparing the New Deal in USA and the Economic Measures in the UK during depression) should always be displayed. 3. At the end, a summary of the take-home points, again in a powerpoint-like slide format, and explained it in 1-2 minutes. 4. All the new/ technical terms, introduced / used in a lesson may be displayed whenever the student chooses to pause the video and clicks a 'Terms' option, created for this specific purpose.

This is a most interesting course. Well constructed and beautifully presented. The old photos are remarkable and I enjoyed hearing some of the war songs.

it was really helpful to me and helps me to understand the pre-war, post-war and normal view of life and what it was like for people living in Britain at these times

I took this course as revision for GCSE. It was an okay course apart from the instructor always reading off the presentation and not going further into some topics.

I think that it had a lot of important information, but it could be better if the diagrams were more organized. Because some of them are difficult to read and understand. Appart from that, great course.
