I'm passionate about being a nanny. I learned a lot from this course that I can apply to the children I work with at the moment. I found this course to be well organized and well presented. It was great to take all the little quizzes. As a result, I was able to understand more clearly.

My first exposure to on line learning. I enjoyed that the information was in small bites. The presentation lacked personal warmth and sincerity. That information was being read from a screen verbatim- uninspiring. Thankfully the information was interesting enough to allow me to enjoy. Would not want to buy another course from this presenter. Learned a lot, course content very good

While I feel like the info was good, it was extremely difficult to follow for someone with ADHD. Visual aids & bullet points are imperative for someone who has difficulty focusing on audio alone. It took me twice as long, if not longer to go through because I had to rewind, pause, and rewatch it all multiple times to take note. Again, good info, but poor presentation.

The pace was excellent, not overwhelming. There was clarity of delivery. Excellent course. It would have even been better if there is a clear diagram in session 10/ 11 breaking down what was been said. I am a very visual person and it was difficult understanding the descriptions given. Other than that, it was an amazing course, easy to follow and understand. Thank you

This is a good overview of childhood trauma and how it affects the brain and functioning. An excellent demonstration was given on how the brain processes trauma and relevant statistics were also provided.

Well researched course. I highly recommend it for everyone, to help understand either your own experience with trauma or those around you who may have experienced trauma.

Presented well with relevant information. This is the second class I have taken with this instructor. Although the information was well presented, it sounded like she was reading straight from a manual or text book. Would help if she also broke it up more with her own words and examples. Not to take away from her subject material, which was fine, just a thought to mix the readings . I psychiatric disorders and mental health, and know that my students can get bored and tired of hearing straight reading. Other then that, her courses are good.

could have had more active video listening to someone talk and watching a picture seems a little boring after a point

Clear and rich presentations. Powerpoint though are not very interactive. I would suggest the use of text and images to illustrate the concepts.

One lecture talks over itself. You have to do weird things to get it to make the lectures complete in some of them...and the certificate has an error!

What an excellent course! Mary Allison Brown was very engaging, and is clearly an expert on this subject. The course flows logically, and her grouping of topics is very well done. The content is so compelling that I could not put my laptop down. As Ms. Brown put it, it's pay now a little in prevention or pay much more later. Without disclosing much personal information, I must admit that I was moved by truly understanding what it took for me to survive the aftermath growing up trapped in a war zone of domestic and community violence. I would highly recommend this course to anyone who wants to clearly know why childhood is not resilient but in fact it is so fragile.
