Description

Blender 2.8: A Beginners Complete 3D Modelling Guide of Creating a Medieval Building Scene will provide you with a thorough workflow and all the tools to create the scene featured in the course introduction. This course is aimed at Blender 2.8 beginners and it will provide you with the tools to create all the assets that are included in this scene. It will also teach you the basics of texturing, UV-unwrapping and rendering in Blender 2.8. This will be one of the first extended length courses on Blender 2.8 since its release. I will introduce you to all the shortcuts and everything will be explained. Complete beginners to Blender 2.8 will quickly find their feet and before you know it, you will be creating scenes that look like you have spent years in Blender. Enrolling on this course will not only give you the tools to make a Medieval building scene – it will also provide you with freebies including 115 texture maps and 3 reference images all created by me, 3D Tudor, and unique to this course. Most of the textures are also seamless, so they can be easily used in any assets you create in the future. Interesting highlights include showing you how to build stone supports, stone stairs, lanterns, an archway alley, a balcony and a curved roof. The focus of this course is to show you how to make realistic models, to real-world scale. Lighting and rendering is also an essential part of this course, and after you have finished modelling, I will be show you how to let the moonlight and stars shine light onto your Medieval tavern.

The course is very good and detailed, but there are some actions that doesn't have a clear information of why you took these actions, and this might be difficult to the absolute beginner, but at least needs someone who started blender from a while, otherwise you put hard effort in that course and I really enjoyed it and I know you have a lot of amazing stuff coming so keep up the good work!

The instructor should explain why he does what he does so that the students can use that knowledge in other similar areas.

This is a great beginners course for anyone looking to get started with Blender and learn all the different tools Blender has. Neil's teaching style is very open and creative he builds upon each lesson. I highly recommend his courses they are well worth with.

Yes, this course is my first experience with Blender, and it is very interesting. The difficulty increases very fast for a beginner and somehow manages to stay possible, which is very well done.

First of all this is a BIG course with a lot of content, allow yourself a good deal of time to get through the course and expect to spend at least 2 or 3 times the given length of the lectures on working through the course. Having said that if you are willing to put in the time you can also expect to learn a great deal about Blender modelling, particularly as applied to recreating historical buildings that you can apply to your own future work. The course is particularly strong on surface and object modelling with quite a lot of emphasis on creating well formed models without excessive complex polygons; UV unwrapping and the application of textures to your models are also extensively covered. It should be said though that Blender organic sculpting is not covered, and the textures used are in general supplied rather than created in Blender; and while lighting and rendering are discussed they are not a major part of the course. In terms of the course structure, it broadly divides into two parts in the first third (or so) of the course you create a series of modular components (walls, supports, doors, windows, roofs and so forth) that comprise the individual parts of the overall structure. Then most of the remainder of the course involves using these components to construct the actual building. This is a sensible method of creating what is a fairly complex structure and is a technique that I plan to use myself in future projects. While I found the build process generally fairly clear and straightforward I did have a couple of minor problems; in one or two places I did lose the thread of what the instructor was trying to achieve, which made following along more difficult than I felt it needed to be, in the end my solution was to just watch the particular lecture where I had problems through a couple of times without trying to follow along and eventually things became clearer. Overall though, I must say that I am very happy with the final result of the build and consider the course well worthwhile.

Jest dosyć ciekawy. Pokazuje wszystko od początków, tak aby nie zniechęcić osób początkujących. Jedyną wadą jest zbyt szybkie pokazywanie tego wszystkiego. Można się czasami zaplątać.

It is not for "complete beginners": you have to know exactly where to put your hands to follow those lessons.

First of all, I thank the teacher for his course. The lessons are presented in a practical way. So, even though no theoretical explanations are added, we can learn by doing. The content is good, language is fine and the example is well chosen. I have just a small request for a future course. The models are sometimes done in an artistic way. The modeller is judge of the dimensions. However, for some modern realizations, it is required to respect some measures. It may be good to show how to respect some build dimensions. Some techniques should be of help.
