Why take this course?

When you go through the process of creating your own beginner quilt, you'll learn fundamentals that will help you with any quilt project you attempt in the future! To make this quilt, you'll learn to use the industry standard rotary tools (cutter, mat, and ruler) to accurately cut your fabric pieces, sew with a quarter-inch seam allowance, and tie your quilt layers together with thin yarn or embroidery floss.

SUPPLY LIST:

· Beginner's Quilt Pattern

· Sewing Machine

· Embroidery Floss or Thin Yarn for Tying

· Crib Size Batting (45" X 60")

· 1 3/4 yd backing

· A 1/4 yd (or fat quarter) of six different fabrics

Variation:

This quilt was originally intended to be finished using the envelope/pillowcase method and hand ties. If you prefer to finish with machine quilting and binding, leave off the Embroidery Floss/Thin Yarn & Chenille Needle and add the following supplies:

· 3/8 yd fabric for binding

· Matching 100% Cotton Thread for Machine Quilting

An initial section in the included PDF Pattern will cover fabric anatomy, thread options, information about cutting mats and rotary cutters, tips for keeping your sewing machine in good working order, and more! Step-by-step photographs in the instructions help you remember the video content.

Thank you for taking my class! If you need to learn how to use your sewing machine, be sure to check out my other class, Sewing Machine 101.
