What you will learn

Test your understanding of everything listed below using Udemy quizzes and Assignment features (to truly master the concepts)

1. Explain what 1D motion is

2. Differentiate between distance & displacement, speed & velocity using very simple words

3. Calculate average values of speed and velocity (for particles moving in straight line) without having to memorise formulae

4. Differentiate, clearly, between average velocity and instantaneous velocity (Usually a topic of confusion)

5. Explain clearly what acceleration means (you will be able to explain why top speed isn't the only thing that matters in sports cars)

6. Calculate acceleration when velocities are changing without having to memorise formulae6.

7. Differentiate between uniform and non - uniform motion

8. Draw x-t, v-t and a-t graphs for various uniform and non-uniform motion. (Graphs will no longer look abstract)

9. Analyse x-t, v-t, and a-t graphs to extract informations about position, velocity and accelerations.

10. Derive the most important SUVAT equations from graphs and identify general strategy to solve any problem on uniformly accelerated motion.

11. Solve variety of numerical problems on uniformly accelerated motion using the SUVAT equations (Most important takeaway of this course)

12. Explain the concrete meaning of differentiation and integration to someone (The essence of calculus).

13. Figure out the rules of differentiation and integration logically (This is unique, as most introductory courses just state the rules of calculus without any logic or explanation)

14. Understand what position functions and velocity functions are

15. Using differentiation, calculate instantaneous speeds and accelerations for non uniform motion. (from position and velocity functions)

16. Using integrals, calculate area under curves, velocities and positions for non uniform motion.(from velocity functions)

17. Explain why differentiation represents slopes and integration, area under graphs.

18. Explain the characteristics of a projectile motion

19. Solve numerical problems on projectile motion.

20. Explain, intuitively, why velocity is a relative concept.

21. Understand what reference frames are.

22. Calculating velocity of an object from different reference frames mentally. (This skill is especially important for solving some tricky problems in physics)

23. Solve tedious looking problems with few steps by changing reference frames

24. Be ready to learn higher concepts of motion in 2 dimensions.

Description

This course is all about Kinematics in 1D, the physics of moving things along a straight line. Kinematics is always the first topic you would have to master in order to understand the laws of the universe.  Everything in the universe is moving, so kinematics is the most fundamental thing you will need to know to do any kind of physics.

I expect no prior knowledge of physics, in order for you to take this course. The only pre requisites are little bit of math (mentioned in the course basics). Although kinematics needs calculus, I will be teaching everything calculus that we will be needed to tackle various scenarios. So don't worry about calculus :)

The course is structured as follows

Concept videos, Practice problem videos, Extra information (Which is not mandatory but helps you get more insight and get more out of the course :))

For every concept, I have included trivial and challenging quizzes to make sure, you can check your understanding and review any material if needed.

There are assignment questions which test your application abilities and how you are able to connect various topics together.

At the end you have practice test, with timings and scores. This makes you self evaluate your learning and understand how much you have gained from the entire course.

So what are you waiting for, enrol and let's get.. wait for it... moving! (sorry for that, my jokes get better)

instructor covered the course in great detail. sometimes he spoke a little too fast to understand, but was still intelligible. overall, he covered the material extremely well. i look forward to him extending his courses to other levels of physics, which i believe, students will openly accept. thanks for the great instructional videos. keep up the good work!

Very well done! I had almost no understanding of physics related to kinematics before starting this course. Well it was taught to me at school, 9th of course but never really understood im surprised how i passed 9th physics xD. Thanks alot sir!

This is really an interesting course. I think the time we spend in boring lectures of coaching classes, students should study by this type of conceptual learning videos made by such tutors. This type of realistic examples and teaching makes thing easy to remember and apply physics. Satisfied and happy to enroll in such a course... I would recommend this course to beginners and also to people who have wasted their time in coaching class and are now confused in many concepts of physics. And if you are preparing for JEE, Kinematics is a big and basic kind off chapter for every aspirant. So let your foundation be made tough.. Rated 5/5. Thank You..

The course uses visuals and chalk talk very well to make subtle intuition of core ideas no matter how fundamental or easy they look like.
