Description

Proofreaders are normally the members of the publishing team that make sure that documents look and read their best before they are sent to print. Along with being able to recognize errors in written materials, proofreaders must be able to correctly mark the documents for corrections.

However, nowadays, with the help of freelancer marketplaces anyone can become a proofreader and offer their services online.

Proofreaders can charge around $20-$50 per hour

Proofreaders can earn per year around $50K working part time

Proofreaders can work from home or from anywhere in the world

If you learn how to become a proofreader, you will enjoy more:

FREEDOM – to be home with your kids, leave your 9-to-5 job, and work with who you want, when you want, where you want

FLEXIBILITY – to work when it fits best in your schedule

FINANCIAL SECURITY – side hustles can help you to stop living paycheck-to-paycheck, get rid of debt, take family vacations, and have extra fun money

Plus, proofreading is something you naturally do for free anyway. Why not get paid for those incredible eagle eyes you were blessed with?

the information is good, but the reader is a bad AI and is reading slower than the slides are appearing, making this a little confusing. Not to mention the annunciations are a little off.

Taking this course was one of the best decisions I made a few days ago. The instructor knows her onions.

Part of this course has been copy/pasted from Wikipedia. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Basic_copyediting

This course is about proofreading, and I am finding errors in the written words on the page. I am not sure if this is intentional/if there will be some sort of quiz at the end, but it makes me question the content and mastery of this course. Edit after finishing course: There was not a quiz at the end, and many spelling mistakes and grammatical errors. (For example, using "doesn't" instead of "don't.")

Great course. Although a little repetitive, it does outline the main differences and the key points to look out for while proofreading or copyediting. Thanks!

It was very informative and helpful. It showed the path to proofreading. It also covered types of editors and gave details about proofreading.

There are more things told than in the presentation of this lecture. It makes me more relatable to the topic.

I feel that I am missing out on important educational tips and tricks due to what sounds like a monotone bot. My biggest problem with this course is that there are no reference materials. Where is the document showing all the corrective marks? Where are the documents showing the standards we learned in the course?
