What you will learn

Understand house wiring and what your electrician is doing, troubleshoot minor electrical issues

Description

Welcome to the course Basics of Electrical Wiring. This is a basic course for anyone who wants to know more about the all-important electricity that brings the power to run modern life. Even though electrical wiring appears complicated we have simplified things for you by using simple wiring diagrams which clearly illustrates all the basic components of electrical wiring - starting with incoming supply, consumer panel, wiring components, wiring different circuits like radial, ring, parallel, single phase, three phase and so on. We have also gone into the selection of conductor sizes and circuit breakers, distribution of load between phases and the application and wiring of Residual Current Devices (GFCIs). As a bonus section a detailed wiring illustration of a sample apartment is provided where all the principles taught in the first part is applied in practice. Whether you're a beginner or looking to enhance your expertise, this course will empower you to understand the principles and practice of house wiring. At the end of this course you will be in a position to know exactly what your electrician is supposed to do in your house and even be able to troubleshoot minor electrical problems yourself. Let's embark on this electrifying journey together!

It was an OK course. It would have been nice if the presenter compared the international, British and NEC (United States) color codes for wiring. Also, it would have been nice if the presenter discussed the correlation between mm2 size and AWG.

A bit confusing with the example being used was a larger DB Board. I am more used to more domestic consumer units for houses. Most local authorities prefer to use RCBOs on every circuit, to minimize call outs

I don't know yet, it still has to get to the meat of the subject. Sounds like the voice is computer-generated.

I wish the text will be in a separate transcript screen and the illustrations shown on the videos were available for download.

it was great to add to the little that i know now i can trouble shoot problems more accurately know and not guess.. one thing it lacked was safety he didn't seem to speak much on power and how we should respect it then we'll understand how it works overall it was great

I am enjoying the course, but because I am so new to this I wished it would show the basics, I mean kindergarten basics

Drawings could be better. Overall a good training. However, the instructor could add a few more sections.

Good content covering basics as per course information. The only disadvantage is tutor's accent which is hardly understandable.

Clear to understand but I am a electrical engineer. Speakers accent is clear enough to understand on the first time listener. Good to have close caption.

The person facilitating the course is very difficult to understand without looking at the subtitles. Had I known this I would never have paid for this course as it limits my ability to take in all the information being presented. This defeats the purpose of making learning easier. I’ve had to try take in the information and figure out what is being said at the same time. Not good!

The lectorer could have learned English for starter. Also some more explanations could've been added to simplify this to a beginner level. The color schemes were good and understandable.

The teacher don not speak fluent English so he takes long pauses to find the proper words to explain the circuit. Too much noise on the background from his kids screaming.

If you like poorly made powerpoints, blurry videos, many long pauses, repeating the exact same thing multiple times, and generally having trouble understanding what is being said, then this is the course for you. I just finished this course and have learned some information about wiring, but I would highly recommend trying to find a different course if possible - I am surprised this is on Udemy.
