BASH Programming Course: Master the Linux Command Line!

The sequence of topics, the choice of topics, and the examples are good. As most of bash courses certain details are used and not clarified before or clarified in a systematic ways (e.g. the different brackets and parentheses). In general it is a good practical introduction to bash.

He obviously knows his stuff, but his presentation skills are not great. It would be better had he prepared his lectures in advance.

I'm halfway through and feel like it's been totally useless. The examples cover things that are never explained, or at least not reiterated (like [ vs [[ ). The teaching is scatterbrained and incoherent at times, like there was no rehearsal at all. I have some bash experience and struggled, there's no way this could be of any use to beginners.

Bottomline: The teacher loves hearing himself talking! Don’t loose 10.5 hours of your life with this course! - He never explains why (Ex: the sed expression deletes a line - why? Adding file descriptor adds to the counter - why? I can see that it does it, I need an explanation.. many, many examples like this) - None if his videos is edited - you spend 90% of the time watching adding endless echo statements and moving windows around. - A LOT of pointless talking. “Anyway”, “basically”, “actually”, “no problems” - if you hear that either before that there was a pointless point. - In English “5 is lesser than 6” does not exist! The proper expression is “5 is less than 6” - I will finish the course, only because of masochistic side, but I got nothing new from this course - all I knew before it, I barely understood and the ones I did not know, I got only more confused - Telling me to check man pages or going in the discussion forums is not a replacement for a tutorial. If I were you, I would go through all videos and check if I would understand the point if I knew nothing about BASH - Last reply on the support forums is 1 year old! So stop repeating on each video “If you did not understand, ask on the forums, we are there for you to help”! - You are asking 94.95 EUR for this???? I got it for 10, and it is still the worst 10 EUR spent ever!

I will be using the knowledge learned in this course for Enterprise level support for all of our UNIX/Linux systems and save myself time via the automation used via bash. Thanks!

The instructor doesn't seem that he has prepared the lessons in advance, therefore, he was wondering and gave not important notes all the times. It's waste of time.

the lecturer sounds like he has a clod. he is not talking to the point. he mentions things before he teaches them. for me as a script writer (python/powershell) i need it to be more focused, more to the point. to examine codes.

Instructor goes into much needed detail and gives examples on each subject so that the illustration is clear. My only problem is that the course feels a bit messy in terms of organization.

I like the way of teaching. He shows like making mistakes but actually he is grabbing our attention and teaching.

Ermin is very engaging and dynamic in his presentation style. I really enjoyed following along with his instruction and felt the course covered BASH in great detail. I learned a lot of things I never knew before, but the best part for me was learning about commands that I already utilize but never fully understood. Great course. Can't recommend enough.

Very nice course. Easy to understand. I was only missing some real world examples but still I had found many ideas that could be extended further by my own.

After 1 hour I have learned absolutely nothing except the instructor spent exactly zero minutes preparing for this video. You will watch as he fumbles around to find downloads on websites and searches through menus to find settings. I could have done this myself in less time and learned more from it. Next you will be typing commands to install and update things with no explanation of what you are installing and no description of this install commands themselves... just type this long line of stuff, trust me. I'm here to learn, not just type commands blindly. Thanks for nothing.

From being a complete beginner this is an excellent course to grasp a wide range of use from the BASH command line. Would recommend :)

This is the best course for BASH SHELL SCRIPT learners... However, working with the same file named first.sh is not too good for us. I create new files each time. And each video is too lengthy... That means for each video, you've to make separate files. That's not a big problem though. This makes things a bit messy. However, this course is really helpful., and teaches me a lot. Thank you very much for this awesome course...

A very good course. I found it really useful while preparing my first real bash script. It can seem a bit difficult at the beginning, but it is well structured and comprehensive. After a while everything becomes clear. Kurs jest bardzo wartosciowy. Można byłoby zmienić nieco strukturę pierwszych rozdziałów, bo dla kogos, kto nie mial do tej pory do czynienia z bashem, moze byc poczatkowo trudno. Prowadzący popełnia błędy, za to minus. Ale ogólnie pozytywnie. Uczę się basha od dwóch miesięcy i znalazłam w materiałach dużo cennych informacji.
