Why take this course?

Amazon or AWS Redshift is a fast, easy to use, cost-effective, peta-byte level, cloud data warehousing solution. In this course we will learn multiple features of Redshift in a step-by-step approach. This tutorial is well supported by hands-on lab exercises and the set of Interview Questions.

The course is divided in following core areas

  1. Overview - Brief introduction to AWS Redshift, Datawarehouse Systems & evolution of related technologies

  2. Getting Started - We will get started on Amazon Redshift  by loading and querying sample data. We will understand the bare minimum of redshift ecosystem including Redshift Console, Query Editor and Configurations needed to integrate  an external SQL Client - DBeaver.

  3. How does it work - We will jump into the core mechanics of Redshift where we will understand the core components, functions of redshift including Redshift Cluster, Nodes, Distribution Key, Sort Key, Results Cache, AQUA, RA3 Instances, etc.

  4. Manage Data - We will move to manage data section where we will understand the redshift data types, data loading & data querying options, automated table design, stored procedures, materialized views and workload management.

  5. AWS Services - In this section, we will understand some advanced features of Redshift including Redshift Spectrum, Redshift ML and Federated Queries. We will also understand the integration aspects of redshift with other AWS services such as data-lake formation, aws EMR, AWS glue, Amazon Kinesis, Amazon Quicksight, AWS Sagemaker, etc.

  6. Manage Cluster - In this section, we will understand the management aspects of redshift including the basic cluster operations, snapshots as backups, monitoring, logging & data security.

  7. Conclude - In the last section, we will understand the redshift cost and pricing, best practices, reading references, etc.

I need more depth on all topics. here it's kind of overview. Can you please elaborate more on topics.

Very good. Found the security part a bit too long and not that easy to digest though, the rest super intuitive

Hi Lal! so far I have completed 4 sections of the course and could feel, had it been some sort of quizzes in the course, It would have been helpful for check-pointing. Interview Questions is the must section, thanks for it. I recommend this course to those who are willing to learn AWS Redshift.

The demo segments were good as they show actual interaction with the services. I struggled with the narration/reading as it didn't engage me enough. I lost interest too many times and am sure I missed a lot of good information.

Seemed to lack background on Microsoft options when doing the comparisons and Microsoft is the second largest cloud provider and largest database provider.

Nice training. covered every aspect in basics. Trainer knowledge is also great.. It is having upto date information and feature, so very well done on that.. I was looking for some details information like the log of user activity is stored on S3 for redshift, howe can access it and build some analysis on that. keep it up and thank you so much

Though this training covers many topics in Redshift, it does not live up to its title as a comprehensive guide. The training spends little time explaining how different components work in Redshift. Rather, it is more of a laundry list of the redshift functions. The instructor reads off scripts with long inconsistent knowledge points and more often than not, it feels very over-loaded with information. The hands-on demos are outdated and it does not help me understand the intension and purpose. Overall, it's nice to scan through this training and have a basic understanding of all the functions. However, this is not sufficient to develop a deep understanding of how Redshift works.

The speaker is speaking very slow and it seems more like he's singing a song ,Lol can the speaker be changed for good already! It gets boring if the person speaks in a melancholy tone! Hope this helps

Not a comprehensive course.... basic hands on only and theory could be explained with good practical examples

The information provided here about AWS Redshift is extensive. I liked the interview question section as it is like a summary of key points to keep in mind. I watched the videos with transcript on so the tutorial section was like reading.

it is the high-level introduction course, and it is good for someone to get familiar with what redshift is. If you are going to manage/admin redshift, you need to have more intensive course.

You need to fix the sound in each section. I would not sell this as a comprehensive guide, but an intro to RedShift.

I appreciate the context setting (history, examples of providers, technological evolution) before diving into the Redshift solution itself. The hands-on exercises walk you through the different aspects of managing storing and querying data. I like the optimization tips.

The content of the course looks great! And in these lessons i understand very well the pronunciation of the teacher. He talks slow and clear and that makes all easier for latam engineers

yes - for me as an experienced Oracle developer it allows me to get 'stuck into' RS immediately by showing me the relevant areas i need to achieve this as well as explaining the 'under the hood' concepts of RS very well. Course is very well structured so far & helps to focus on just the important & relevant areas.
