One of the trickiest habits or behaviours we own, relates to food. That's because our eating behaviour is shaped by so many emotions,desires and feelings... both good and bad.
It is interesting that humans are pretty much the only animal on the planet that don't really know what we are meant to be eating. What is human food. A panda bear has no question that it's primary preferred food source is bamboo shoots. A lion or leopard knows that a zebra, gazelle or wildebeest are perfect food - we are not entirely sure if they actually have a preference. White sharks definitely fancy the taste of seals.
So why are humans so confused.
Well there are a couple of reasons. Firstly we are the great colonisers - there's hardly a space on the planet we haven't managed to colonise and survive - we had to adapt to whatever foods were available.

There are very few of us in the western world who have experienced what it is like to be truly hungry. And quite right - it is sad that any human beings in this day and age should have to experience hunger.

Having said that, we have, as a species over the course of evolution, experienced hunger, sometimes for extended periods.

What is amazing is that our bodies and minds have become stronger, more resilient, and even shown signs of increased cognitive brain function, boosted immune function and general overall health as a result of forced or voluntary calorie restriction for periods of time.

This course covers intermittent fasting - the history, the great minds who have fasted but mainly the amazing and scientifically proven benefits to our health and well being - from living longer, brain health, immune system health, inflammation, weight loss and or control - the list goes on.

The course will also go into how to do fasting - the best protocols and frequency.

Quality production values. Good information content. Clear explanations. Possible improvements: less music, longer lessons, some citations? That weird side shuffle of the host to make screen room for graphics was a bit distracting. Overall though, excellent series.

I did fasting occasionally by myself and felt great. That's why I want to apply the advices of this course, I know the benefits described in the course are real and, moreover, because the approach to fasting by Colin Holding is relaxed and adaptable to different personal needs.

Love the level of science and detail, and the totally engaging delivery! This is a high quality presentation on the subject, and for those who want to cut to the chase, you can do that too. As a early 50's very physically active woman who's pretty careful about diet and still struggling with gradual weight gain (while living with a fiance who can eat for days and not gain an ounce), this my friends is a total godsend. And the health and cognitive benefits are actually more compelling than the weight loss benefits, so it is a serious win/win. I do wish that a little more time and attention was given to each of the models of intermittent fasting - which maybe could be as simple as giving a few examples of how you could implement each method. Either way, a great course!

captivating presentation and great info. Helped me to gain a greater and more thorough understanding of all the benefits of Intermittent Fasting, as well as what causes the benefits, and what happens to the body during a fast from a biological perspective. All information was well presented in a way that wasa easy to understand and follow.

Very good course on intermittent fasting covering all aspects of it. The lecturer is very engaging and the contents are top notch. Highly recommended to anyone considering this loosing weight and improving his/hers health with fasting.

This is a very short and sweet course to guide you on the correct path of fasting. All claims made in here are science based (I know this being a doctor myself!) I used to fast anyways even before enrolling in this course as I have a blood coagulation disorder but now I think I'll be able to fast more effectively. Fasting really helps repair your body and bring it back to normal healthy state. Thanks for such a detailed course.

Absolutely excellent! I highly recommend this course. It was so good, I did it in one sitting. Great presentation, lots of information, very inspiring. Colin gave one of the best face to face courses I have seen yet. He is personable and natural in front of the camera. His backgrounds and text animation help make the course interesting and never lagging. I have been interested in intermittent fasting for some time and have played around with it without really knowing much about it. That has all changed after taking this course. I now have the knowledge and inspiration to go forward and make IF a regular part of my life with a certain conscious understanding I didn't have before. Thank you!
