It was good from afar but it was far from good. Fairly straight forward but it felt rushed, and I don't know how much I can trust what he showed me in the videos because of it. The course look and sounds like it should, but there's something off about it. Plus that website he gave out didn't work... Anyway, $9 bucks. You get what you pay for. We'll see how it goes. Hopefully I didn't just get scammed.

Very clear and concise. There were some individual parts that assumed you have prior knowledge that caused a little confusion but overall it was very easy to follow.

A lot of this is outdated. More recent versions of Audacity enable you to set RMS levels directly via the Loudness Normalization effect. Audacity also has Copy Punch/Paste effects for inserting room noise instead of creating a separate track with room noise as recommended in this course. The audio used as an example in this course is over-driven and distorted. The course ends with a sales pitch to sign up for the instructor's Amazon Sponsorship course. I didn't appreciate the blindside.

I read all the comments before I purachased this course. Its your problem that he is using nectar, and that doesnt mean the course is not valuable. As a person already working in the field, this was very informative and somehow got a confirmation that I work in the right direction.

This class was great but I think that if I had no knowledge of Audacity and recording it might be hard to grasp so you want to make sure that you're familiar with recording terms, etc. Since it's labeled Audacity and ACX approval and not Audacity for beginners I think that the teacher already covered that but just in case I wanted to mention it. Also this is the only CURRENT Audactiy class available on here with regards to ACX and that is the best part of this whole class. You know that the specs and what to expect are current and well researched. Great class!

I am so happy to have found this. I love how he breaks everything down easily. He doesn't overload you with information either which is great!

So far it’s been very general and not things I didn’t already know. But would be very useful to a complete beginner.

very good so far, except gentleman's accent makes it difficult to discern whether he was saying "P" key or "B" key

Course purported to teach Audacity but used pay-extra plug-ins instead of the native tools. Course was contradictory and confusing. Used examples that were terribly read, mispronounced, and gave tips that just do not work.

This was very technical. This class would be better for someone with a little experience, not a complete beginner as advertised.

I have no experience therefore I would have liked to see screenshots or videos of EVERYTHING he is describing. Also, and I in no way mean this disrespectfully, but between my Texas drawl ear and his accent I am having to rewind and listen to parts over and over. There were still a few words I could not understand, especially when describing the options for connecting microphone to the computer. Please I do not mean to be disrespectful....for the most I am able to clearly understand....just wish he spoke a little slower.

I left you a five star rating because I always look for the good and I appreciate you teaching this class. I have to listen extra hard because of your accent, but I mostly can understand you. It’s hard to tell the name of the plug-ins you said, but because you put them in written text, that helps a lot. Thanks!

I enjoyed the information provided in this course. It was definitely good to get the ball rolling in Audacity as well as other pertinent information. I will watch several times in order to fully process all the information.

I am rating this course as highly as I am because I have some experience with audio level engineering already going into this. If I were an out and out novice, I might only rate this course at about 3 stars because he does NOT solely rely on Audacity as he states in the description, but on plug ins that improve the audacity experience. He acts on those add-ons and does not go over how exactly to do it only using audacity, and many absolute beginners may be put off by that. He also does not go into the meaning of terms he uses throughout the course (assuming his viewers have prior knowledge, perhaps?) and he himself mispronounces words or is not using proper diction to overcome consonant flow when presenting his reading examples. This course should be updated with improvements in order to be worth the cost at regular price. If I had not purchased the course at the $9.99 sale price, I might not be as generous with my star rating.

I couldn't understand why he spent so much time waffling and repeating non-essential parts, while zooming through the critical sections on settings and levels, until I realised that the whole purpose of making this course is to help the creator sell another course on Affiliate Marketing with Amazon tracking links he calls, "Sponsorship." The claim that you can earn $15 dollars a click with affiliates is laughable. What's he promoting, luxury condos in Florida? He obviously knows a lot about audio recording and editing, but this is a frustrating course, illogical in learning order, difficult to see where to open functions (cut off the top of the screen for the first few videos) and he is extremely vague as to why certain effects need to be applied. The sections where he explains how to comply with ACX standards is so quick, and ill-explained, even stopping to take notes doesn't help. Also, we are told at the start that we don't need to buy expensive software, and then he rams Izotope Nectar software in your face so many times, I think he's on commission. I'm so glad I only paid the discounted price for this or I'd be fuming. All I've really lost is my time.
