Learn how to create your own blendshapes

Create complete projects in standard, URP and HDRP templates

Create scenes from blank canvas through to industry standard quality

Why take this course?

You will learn a wide variety of animation techniques and concepts in this course by completing four projects.

Project 1 - Monolith (Standard 3D Template)

We will be creating the surface of the moon, the earth and importing a spacestation to create a space fly through animated cut scene. We will be using several cameras and animating between them using Unity timeline. We will look at pacing and timing to get the imagery to match the pacing of background music.

Project 2 - Speed Tournament (Universal Render Pipeline (URP) Template)

We will be creating a photorealistic environment and importing a race track and race car to create a dynamic animated cut scene for a racing style game. The shots will be more dynamic and exciting and we will be creating these by using Cinemachine. We will be using virtual cameras and dolly cameras with tracks. We will be incorporating physics elements alongside keyframed animation. We will look at techniques for creating impressive slow motion effects. We will be blending between different post processing effects to create depth of field shots, lens flares and more, to give the animation a AAA quality feel to it.

Project 3 - Shootout (High Definition Render Pipeline (HDRP) Template)

We will setup a low poly desert scene with a cowboy shootout involving three cowboy characters. We will use the Animation rigging package to setup multiple constraints to control the cowboy characters using Inverse Kinematics (IK). We will incorporate Two bone IK, Position constraints, rotation constraints,  look at, parent constraints and finger IK to create a fluid animation rig for each character to make it easy to make complex character animations. We will continue to use Cinemachine to create the shots that will tell a short story.

Project 4 - Blendshapes (Standard 3D Template)

Using a pre made character, we will create our own blend shapes for the face and clothes in Blender. We will then import the character and animations into Unity and assign the correct avatar. We will animate the character's facial expressions and this time we will use the animator window to create a non linear structure of animations that are controlled by Parameters that are controlled by C# script. This will make the final animation more interactive.

You can complete the projects in any order you like to develop different skills.

By the end of this course you will have developed a wide range of skills and techniques that will improve your own animated cut scenes and animated movies using the Unity real time game engine.

Why not enrol today and I'll look forward to seeing you in my course.

Before the course, I was interested the animations, although I had a bad feeling about the animation part of the game that I would make. I thought that I could not make the animations. I had no experience with it. However, I am now much more interested in and capable of animating thanks to the instructor's clean, and detailed explanations. His choices of animation projects are quite well. They were interesting and quite fun to work on. I love how Pete helps me by answering my questions clearly when he has a time to. I appreciate that. Also, this is the first course that I finished :) I bought most of Pete's courses and I am so excited to start them.

I'll call this my best learning experience in my life u cant just miss a thing. initial plan was to check the course outline for just an hour like 8days ago or so but cant just stop following his step by steps approach along with my laptop... couple up with additional skills beyond animation from cinematic shots and terrain designs. ill do more courses under his command beyond animation.

Der Kurs ist sehr umfangreich und deckt mehr ab als man erwartet. Vor allem die Stellen die Abseits des Kursthemas sind nehmen viel Zeit in Anspruch aber dennoch habe ich einiges mitnehmen können.

Didn't like how ratings popped up in the first few videos. Anyways, the video has step by step explanation and it's easy to grasp. This professor has great online courses.

Loving the course so far! Finished the Monolith module now and the instructions are super clear. At some point, you can just see what the final result should be and try on your own, which is super valuable! Looking forward for the next sections with new and more technical stuff :)

Covered exactly what I needed to know - predominantly rigging facial blendshapes in blender and animating them in unity.

After several great animation classes where I struggled to understand the Dopesheet and Curves graph, this course quickly made it crystal clear in the first video of the animation section. I should have started my Unity animation journey here. It is early in the course, but if it continues as it has begun, I have high hopes of a vast improvement in my Unity animation fundamentals. The instructor is covering the basics with simple and clear demonstrations which are easy to duplicate and understand.

I wanted to learn animation and cinematography in Unity, though there aren't many proper courses out there, just videos talking about it. This course was exactly what I was looking for, and of course a good start. The pace of the course is just perfect. Straight to the point and easy to understand. So far so good!

Learning a lot about selecting assets from various websites. Assets and tool selections upfront is important when designing the project framework.

Excellent job from Pete Jepson. He starts building his anime worlds from zero, with details and clear movements, so it 's easier for everyone to learn. Watching his rigging lessons, I think I have been capable of making my own rigging anime, besides having zero experience in anime building.

I enjoy the course, but the section with the Monolith is very confusing. The scale issues and moving objects back and forth all the time, makes it really hard to follow a long. I'm pretty sure this could have been organized better by laying out planes or some sort of place holders instead of this endless moving around things in space.

The course is excellent. The Instructor is covering all of the aspects of the animation process thoroughly and in a very easy to understand manner. I enjoy his presentation style. He starts out simple and then extends upon it. I can recommend the course to beginners as well as those well versed in Unity but have yet to gain a full understanding of the animation process.
