Yes - moving from an iPhone to an Android device so although very basic, this covered everything I wanted/needed to know about getting started.
This course has kind of given a practice as to how to use my smartphone effectively and efficiently by keeping in mind the main apps and tools in place.
the Australian / New Zealand accent may be difficult for some people to understand. Does it have closed captions / subtitles ?
I've used Android phones for years, but I only understood the basic items -- and I mean REALLY basic. (I still don't know how to send a photo to someone else's phone, etc.) I decided it was foolish to buy an expensive phone, and then use it only for phone calls and texting. Hence my interest in the "101" course, so as to learn how to use more aspects of my Samsung phone.
I have an LG L62VL and the setup is completely different. Buttons are different and if you do not know how to do a search or how to get on the internet-- you are lost. The speaker has a thick accent and hard to understand. These directions may work for Samsung-- but not for my phone. Sorry, I am not criticizing to be negative.
Very informative and the videos are great demos. Really user friendly, thanks so much for creating this tool
Good to get acquainted with Android devices. However, it might make things easier and more engaging if there was a kind of red thread through the whole course, and if there was a clear goal and a confirming practice exercise in each section.
It is a lot of fun. The pronunciation of English is peculiar and interesting. I had never heard English from New Zealand. The people are enthusiastic. And I did learn a couple of things.
Thank you for sharing and I have learnt to use my smartphone smartly now. It is really great for beginners like me
I am a complete beginner with no technical skills. When she mentioned "cut" ? and paste I had no idea what she was talking about .My android didn't have any of the symbols she showed except for google. She spoke too fast. The man who did the introduction was clear and I was eager to start, but soon became disappointed.
Thanks so much! I was glad to find a (free) course for total novices like me, as I've just switched from a flip phone. Now I feel more confident to explore the smartphone since I learned the basics here.
The information this course delivery is all common sense. Everyone that have a smartphone can figure those things out just by spending some minutes with their phone. I'm a persevere person so i tried to watch all the videos in this course to see if there is anything i could learn from. Unfortunately i can't find any of those and this is a bit waste of my time. Maybe this course is not for me, maybe it's made for old people that can't keep up with nowadays technology. I gave 2 stars because i appreciate the time the instructor spend for making this course, but if it's about the information that i have learn from this course, i would give 1star.
Starts from very basic, as in you have never owned a smartphone, but towards the end, learn't some new things. Easy to follow and clear explanations
It's was a nice course but I would recommend that only for really novice users. I liked the interview lessons and the app suggestions.
I decided to take this course to see how my skills stacked up and I was quite surprised to see there is still quite a bit I don't know.
