Why take this course?

Setting up and maintaining Kubernetes yourself on any cloud provider is painful... but now with Amazon EKS, the management of the Kubernetes control plane is entirely handled by AWS. As a result, you will have more time and fun deploying your own applications the same native Kubernetes way you've known all along, on the cloud provider you love... AWS!

Have you learned Kubernetes before but never got the chance to properly try out Amazon EKS? Then, this course is for you!

In this course, we will explore the features and setup of Amazon EKS alongside many hands-on lectures.

In over 4 hours, you will learn:

  • how to set up kubectl properly to access your cluster

  • how EKS works under the hood and its integrations with AWS

  • how to set up administration using the Kubernetes Dashboard

  • how to deploy a stateless application on EKS and expose it with a public Elastic Load Balancer

  • how to deploy a stateful application on EKS and bind it with EBS volumes

  • how to deploy a stateful application (such as WordPress) with EFS network drives

  • manage your Kubernetes cluster using the AWS CLI and eksctl CLI

---------------------------------

Pre-requisites:

Good course does not deviate into basics. This course will help with understanding EKS with many example deployments of wordpress applications

Good class, great foundation, possible refresh with serverless, but overall for ECS and EKS, excellent job on getting up and running

i don't consider this course well-structured. it should have all scripts available for download. why is eksctl LEGACY? few info about EKS theory. i did not enjoy it at all, sorry for the author.

Nice to have the sections clearly labelled and grouped. I had to jump to the sections I wanted to learn more about. I could do a bit without the erratic mouse movements and web-page scrolling while talking around some topics.

Going good. Just a suggestion sometimes not able to hear you properly. Could you please speak louder?

The course is out of date, and the instructor doesn't seem to be responding to the Q&A. That being said, I still learned some things.

Nice tutorial on EKS. my take way was, how to employ EFS ( storage ) in Kubernetes and role and role binding and how to update the aws-auth Configmap. I was expecting that Paulo to teach how to build the EKS Cluster but that it wasn't the case and some one else was teaching it in this course to my disappointment. but overall, it is a great tutorial and I love Paulo's teaching style.

Great explanation. The hands on part is also very nice. It gives confidence to play with EKS. It would he great if one of the hands on also covers how to setup HTTPs, thereby involving setting up a public certificate.

This is the overview to EKS I needed two weeks ago. Wonderful job organizing and explaining all of the content.

A more EKS related stuff like upgrading K8s version when apps already running and EKS cluster bring up using terraform will help in practical way.

Very clear instruction. Some minor part of the instructions seems is outdated with the latest version of k8s.

Quite good course and straight to the point. Can absolutely recommend it. It's been very helpful for me to get started with EKS and support the colleagues that are already maintaining our clusters.

Lots of detail and real-world examples. No quizes enabled me to skip segments that had less interest without worry that I would get dinged for passing over content.

I'd surely recommend this course to all who wants to step into Kubernetes or for those who wants to expand the knowledge base about the same.
