Hello learners! Welcome to Makerdemy’s "Advanced Node-RED" course. If you are looking for that special course that teaches you how to prototype and develop applications by interfacing multiple cloud platforms, on the go, you have come to the right place. This is an advanced level course, so, prior knowledge of basic programming principles and electronic concepts is a must before taking this course.

Through an innovative pedagogy of mixing projects and concepts, this course will help you learn the WHY, HOW and WHAT. To this end, this course is beyond a cookbook. You will always know WHY you are doing something. For the more curious learners, we have ample resources to dive in and continue your learning journey.

By the end of the course, you will be confident enough to use Node-RED to prototype real-world applications using different cloud platforms. You will also learn to build Node-RED nodes. As a part of this course, you will be exposed to building flows absolutely based on logic which is how Node-RED works!

If you are a technology enthusiast or an engineer with a good understanding of electronics and programming, JS, HTML, and Node.js, and also have experience with working on AWS, GCP, and Azure cloud platforms, this is the course for you. Also, we highly recommend you complete MAKERDEMY’s Introduction to Node-RED Course before enrolling in this.

So, what are you waiting for?! Come, join me in this course. I am looking forward to being your instructor and guide you in building cool applications with Node-RED.

The course is not intended for learning, it is a display of the trainer's ability to perform certain tasks

This could be so great if I knew we were needing to have IoT device for lights on/off to really follow along. The knowledge is still useful, but it is unfortunately not what I was hoping for - which is a simple ping every thousand records inserted into a database. Like a full insert emits, lambda runs, if no remainder when count is divided by 1000, make Alexa say something.

I really wanted to like this course, but unfortunately it left a lot to be desired here. The course tries to show ways to use Node-RED in concert with other technologies, like AWS, IBM Cloud, etc, but unfortunately it never stops to explain any of those additional stuff. For some reason the course makers assume at least one of two things: you know these technologies already, and as such there is no need to explain/introduce them in any way; or it is impossible to find the official online docs without this course, and as such the numerous links to these external (free) resources somehow add value to the course. Neither are necessarily true, obviously. Come on guys, I payed for this. For the money I would've expected properly targeted explanatory/introductory/context giving videos on the various techs you are using instead of just galloping through stuff and the constant flood of links to external free docs (that you didn't create). Building up on a topic (aka. laying some sort of foundation) is extremely important if you want people to really understand what you are doing, and more importantly why you are doing that. Right now it is simply impossible to watch your (AWS, IBM, etc related) videos without constantly stopping them and reading pages and pages of external free docs, which may or may not contain the information you didn't mention/explain out of laziness. My friends, sorry for saying this, but this is truly the lazy approach to creating a course. You are clearly abusing the external resources functionality of Udemy, as it was never intended to be used as a substitute for creating your own content by simply linking external (free) stuff all over the place. Stuff that you should be explaining yourself at least to some degree in the first place, so that your videos would have some sort of context. Right now even basic context is missing in many places, and all you get mostly is a "click-here, do that, set this, if you don't understand I won't explain (why? I payed you to explain), just read the official docs, and finally here's the result". Really? Sorry, but in it's current state I can't recommend this course. To the 4.5 hours of videos you currently have, you could easily add another 4.5 to at least try to compare to many other courses on Udemy, that deliver far more for the same buck.

The final project was very intriguing. Didn't know that we had nodes for pdf conversion. Overall a very good course.

I liked the way the course was structured into projects. Would like to see more project based courses from this instructor.

This course just opens up and shows the many ways in which we can solve problems using nodered. nodered is very impressive.

Great learning experience. If you want to go even deeper into a concept, or even if there is an alternative method of configuring all are well put together in the resources of the lectures.

The course is full of projects with practical hands-on learning stuff. The examples of how they have configured multiple cloud platforms with nodered are very creative.
