This course has a history...

In 2014 I published my second course (I now have over 50 available on Udemy).

It was called 50 Learning Machines.

It was my collection of all my favorite software tools for learning faster.

As a bonus, I included about 15 of my favorite pieces of hardware that I use for learning.

It turned out that this hardware bonus was just as popular, if not more popular, with my students than the software, apps and plugins I recommended in the main body of the course.

Over the years I've added to my collection of hardware tools and developed this idea of building hte ultimate workbench for accelerated learners.

This course is the result of that 3 year mission.

This time around all 50 machines are hardware tools, and I've even included some bonuses on top of the original 50 that cover some cutting edge technology that I think is worth taking a look at.

This course has cost me over $10,000 in testing to create. I've tested tons of different items to come up with this final list. I've done lots of research on each category of tool to find the best in the category. I've optimized for price and performance.

I'LL BE RETURNING TO THE COURSE AGAIN AND AGAIN AT LEAST IN THE NEXT FEW MONTHS. I would recommend this as a five star course if you haven't taken the original 50 machines course yet because this one contains all the original lectures, so it's actually two courses in one. Plus, even with a few caveats I'll be writing about shortly, this course does contain a few REALLY interesting machines that I otherwise wouldn't have known to exist. What is unique about this course, when compared to other productivity/tools courses easily found on Udemy, is that the instructor positions each tool in a whole learning system, well-integrated into it with, in most cases at least, clear motivations and objectives attached to each "machine." Now, while I wouldn't change my mind about giving this course five stars, I must say that I was a little disappointed with the new hardware part because, honestly, I expected more from the instructor in the compilation of tools. Many of the tools were too common-sensical in that they are already widely used even in many home offices or personal learning spaces. The hardware part only redeem itself by the accompaniment of the original software machines in the same course -- but how strongly they reinforce each other! I would personally like to see some updates to this course with more hardware tools that might feel a little OUT THERE for ordinary folks but may prove quite powerful when brought into their home offices -- e.g. ShuttlePro, Synology NAS, wireless headphones, Chromecast, gamepad... These are all very powerful tools that can potentially double or triple the efficiency and effectiveness of your learning if properly repurposed for the specific learning tasks at hand. Now, if you haven't purchased the original 50 machines yet, there's no reason not to take this course right away. You'll learn something. Moreover, you'll probably want to look at your own learning processes and tools in a new way, which I think was an equally valuable thing to take away from the instructor.
