Convert all learning materials into the optimal format for accelerated learning

Description

What is holding you back from learning faster?

Is it you?

Is it your technology?

Is it your overall learning system?

You've probably heard it before: “a bad craftsman blames his tools."

I wouldn't disagree.

But when is the last time you saw someone building a house with a hammer, a hand saw and some 2x4s?

No…

Now it's all about technology:

Air guns.

Buzz saws.

Power drills.

When you build a house, you need the right tools and materials to build a house.

When you build a skills, there are a different set of tools and materials.

The basic ingredients for learning are neurons and myelin.

Each time you fire a set of neurons while learning, they get wrapped in another thin layer of myelin, which is like insulation on an electric cord.

The more the neurons get wrapped up, the faster the neurons can send signals.

And that all means faster learning.

So what does that have to do with this course?

The other half of learning is the tools.

The tools you use to get the raw ingredients, which are the books, courses, Youtube videos, coding sites, forum threads, whatever….to turn into real skills that you have mastered.

That's where these accelerated learning machines come in.

Can you imagine what it was like before Page and Brin invented Google?

Before Gutenberg invented the printing press?

Before Berners-Lee invented the internet (with some help)?

It's like living in the stone ages.

The problem is, there isn't a big market right now for tools that help you learn faster.

Why?

Because there isn't demand for it yet.

And what that means for us is that it's hard to find technology that helps us learn faster beyond the basics of speed reading apps and flash card tools...the ones that have been around in one form or another for decades.

What you get in this course isn't just a list of tools for you to install on your computer or phone.

You get 50+ programs, apps and online services along with a bonus section on hardware that contain the top machines out there that the fastest learners in the world are using to speed up their learning curve.

Most people using these machines will use a few and get impressive gains. But the magic happens when you are using all of them as part of a larger learning system.

In each video you will learn why the software, app or service is the best in it's category and how to use it for it's stage in the learning system.

But, you might be thinking, what makes this different from the other lists or guides for learning out there?

Fair point.

Here's the thing. Most of the programs in here were never designed for accelerated learning. That was never the intention of the developer.

And that's what makes these so valuable.

Because you would never find out about them any other way except stumbling upon them while trying to do something else.

There's two ways of looking at learning faster.

1. Take something you already do and make it a little faster.

2. Do something you were never able to do before because of new technology.

It's the old story of Ford's Model T:

"If I'd asked people what they wanted, they would have asked for a faster horse" - Henry Ford

Right now, you may be thinking about the areas of your learning you could do faster…

But don't forget the other part...the part where you do something you could never dream of before because you have a new technology…

A New. Learning. Machine.

There is much that is good in this course, but the audio quality (volume) is poor. (I am listening on a Macbook Pro, and occasionally an iMac.) The course itself is really a list of useful tools. The "how to" make good use of the tools seems a bit thin. I'm not sure this is the right course to start with. The instructor has a number of courses he has prepared. My hunch is that this course is designed to support those other courses.

This is a good course, the modules are informative and the instructor give great "tidbits" to help you build an organized and effective learning model. Its a bit Microsoft Windows heavy on the desktop application side but still great tools im halfway through and already using some of the methods. Thanks!

This course is a time saver to find good programs. Some of those tools I have never heard about and they were free.

Normally I wait to the end to review a course but after the fourth lecture I had received so much excellent information on productivity tools, I feel the course has already proven its value. I'm looking forward to finishing this soon. Timothy Kenny has become one of my favorite udemy instructors, up there with the Superlearning guys. I have purchased at least six of his courses because his courses are unconventional, creative, critical and different from so many other courses.

computer can aid in the process of learning as well as hinder the process.it's seems that the instructor is well aware to this issue and that is good.some of the recommendations will not suit everyone and some of them I'm not willing to install on my computer since they are not free source project and just freeware.there a lot of software packages out there that one can benfit from in his daily projects and learning and during the years I used several packages like that which I have purchased from known sources.

I only went through Section 1 of the course as I like my information fast and condensed. The remaining sections are there for you to "deep dive" into any particular "learning machine" you would like. Much of the software I already knew, but there were some gems in there that have really made the course worthwhile for them alone. Remember to check the FreeMake installers for any additional software they want to install and make sure you untick those options.

I knew about 80% of the tools listed here but I still learned some new stuff. This is basically just a list of tools you can use to increase productivity.

Timothy gave lots of interesting tools and information in this course! This course could be better if Timothy add real examples on how he uses tools/service/software (in some lectures).

This Course was very informative and full of tips and tricks that changed the way I look at tools and the huge impact one tool could have on my learning experience and life in general! This course is so different and refreshing, doesn't just tells you about the tool but tells you how it would fit in the big picture of accelerated learning. Thanks a million for putting this together. I am looking forward to starting Timothy's new courses.

I think this is a course that many people are not going to understand from reading the promo or title, but it's actually a great course. If you are a researcher or a person who loves to learn, the course describes what are some of the best tools out there to make the most of learning from the web. What Timothy has done is give you many tools available on the web, and describe them in detail, so that you can truly make the most of your learning and your research. Unfortunately, I think this is going to go over most people's heads. Most people are looking for some shortcut to learning that doesn't exist. But if you're the kind that knows the deal when it comes to research, there are definitely things here that will come in handy in learning. It was recorded a couple of years ago, so some of the stuff has changed the way it looks. But the information is valid, since there are updated versions of all this stuff, which only gets better. If you like to use the web for research or learning, and are overwhelmed, or somewhat intimidated by the sheer volume of it all, Timothy has outlined a series of tools that are going to make the process easier and far more organized. Definitely recommended for students, researchers and forward thinkers..
