Use polygonal modeling and UV mapping for games with Maya

Use and understand Maya character rigging and animation tools

Why take this course?

In this course, you will be receiving a comprehensive introduction to Maya 2017! Here, we will cover how Maya works, starting with navigating its UI, and then building a project that will take us through the different aspects of Maya's organizational tools.  For the modelling pipeline, we will be covering polygonal modeling, texturing, and UV mapping as we get our feet wet with some of these introductory-level tools.  Next, we will dive right into some of the tech art and animation tools as we discuss various topics related to both character rigging and animation.  And to put a final touch on the basics, we will then give an overview on the rendering within Maya.  From there, we will move on to some of the more advanced and newer features of Maya 2017.  This section will include the Arnold rendered, the new blendshape editing tools, the PSD system, and the Time Editor.  whether you are just starting in computer animation or a veteran that wants to review the latest tools available, this course has something for you!

Chad has worked in both film and games for nearly 20 years. Currently he runs his own company, Spectral Ink Productions, which published its first mobile game The Last Rite – Endless Nightmare, as well as working with University of California Irvine on an educational game. missing the very first basics, before explaining everything he should explain first how the interface works, how to move around in the 3d software, and such, before going straight in with hard theory

I like the technical explanation of nodes, attributes and generally what makes Maya tick, but I dislike that there is no short cut display in the video when he uses them. It's not hard for me to realize what he's clicking, but I imagine some are left a bit confused. Otherwise, I find the course OK at this point (at the start of section 2).

The only course I have done on maya that explains the fundamental mechanics that make the software work.

I haven't touched Maya in years. So far, I've completed up to the modeling videos in this course and I'm very impressed with the way the instructor takes the time to explain things. I haven't gotten lost yet :-)

The tips and basic outline of tools provided are very helpful in getting me started on my own exploration. Furthermore, what I really liked was when there were issues with the model, he explained multiple ways to fix the problem.

curso bom pra quem esta no começo do maya, para quem já tem algum conhecimento não vale a pena. personagem e UV muito fracos, sem detalhe algum!

The course is really impressive, the author explain parts, like the node editor, how to parent objects through nodes and the sculpting tools, that other authors don't explain. i'm now at UV's and I'm really enjoying it, the best i found on maya 2017, thank you very much!

Most tutorials I have found don't go nearly as in depth as this one does. I really like to understand what is happening in the background.
